CHAPTER 1: IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE? CAUSE IT'S GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO BREATH
It’s a lovely morning. The sun is shining, though it's smaller than you remember. Despite the redness outside, it almost seems like home. Hold on, you notice… the last few days it was harder to breathe, but… you can breathe easily now. What was going on? Well either way, one could put it out of their mind, or become instantly suspicious, but when one makes their way to the Space Hangar a terrible sight awaits them. Zelda, the SHSL Medium, lays on the ground with a giant lump on her head. Is she dead? If you approach, you find she’s still breathing. Oh thank god. What is she doing here? But then, in the plane, you notice something. Who is there? Is that… is that… Zephyr, the SHSL Chemist? Oh gods, is he alright? Upon closer inspection, despite the fact that Zephyr seems untouched and appears to be sleeping soundly, he isn’t breathing. No matter what you do, there’s nothing you can do to help him. Zephyr Kazuki is dead.

TAG None WORDS 445 - | There was not much that a person could find very uplifting about being trapped on a martian base, being forced to suspect that someone may try to kill you at any moment just to escape. Knowing a timer was ticking down to the collective demise of everyone in the station. Every morning, it seemed like less air was allowed to enter their lungs. If something didn't happen soon, they all might...
He fought off those thoughts. Of course he did. After all, submitting to them was when despair would set in. Instead, he resisted. Bided his time. Investigated every nook and cranny he could in the base. Kept vigilante for any slip up by their captor. Avoided with all his strength the dismal desire to clamor for the recycled air that they relied on.
Until, that morning. It was the first thing he noticed as he sat up from his bed. That it was suddenly easy to breathe. As if they were on earth again. This feeling chilled him to the bone. He was a lot quicker getting ready that morning, practically throwing on his clothes and going straight out the door.
His steps were slow, and cautious. Even though he was normally light on his feet, every step seemed to echo as he checked each area available to them. The cafeteria. The dome center. The Space Plane hangar..
As he peaked his head into the large room, his breath suddenly stopped. With wide eyes, and ice cold blood, he stepped into the hangar, his eyes darting between Zelda and Zephyr.
"Shit.. T-Two?" The SHSL Medium was closest, and after shaking off the initial shock, he slowly approached her, kneeling down. She appeared to be breathing, however, her head looked rather bad. A concussion was certainly possible. Delicately, he grabbed her shoulder, shaking it. "Zelda... Come on, wake up. You have to.." He didn't finish. He knew there was still the boy, who had also been lying on the ground. Standing up, Naoya walked over to the blue haired chemist.
As soon as he got a closer look at the boy, Naoya's fist clenched, his knuckles going white.
"No.. This has to be..." He stood, stepping back from the body. Part of him didn't want to accept it, but.. Zephyr really was dead. And... one of them killed him. Maybe he seemed like a threat. Or maybe the killer was just looking to escape. That didn't really matter then.
The artist took a deep breath. He knew this might happen. Even if he resisted it, there was a chance that this would happen, and he knew that. After all, life on Mars was deadly. |

So jack has been looking around this place since introductions and really did not find anything that seems like it could lead him further except maybe the room with a giant dog in it but it did not seem like he was going to enter that room any time soon. Jack could not even find any sign on where the bear could have gone. Jack searched for a few days and each day it became harder to breathe but jack knew he had to press on and try and find a answer. He searched every nook and cranny until but nothing came up. Jack decided to try and confront the bear somehow in the morning because at this rate jack would die of suffocation if he did not find the bear. Jack went to bed and hoped that tomorrow he would get something done.
Jack woke up and noticed that it was a lot easier to breathe then last night and wondered for a few seconds but then had a horrible thought when he remembered what that bear said and he ran out to door. Jack searched some places and was thankful to find nothing but that changed when he went to the space plane hanger. Jack found Naoya standing near two bodies. Jack rushed over to him and saw that zelda was unconscious with a bump on her head. Jack could not believe what he saw when he looked at the other body which was not breathing and upon a closer look was the chemist dead. Jack could not believe that someone would just kill somebody like that. Of course there was only one person he could think of who could have done it and it was that stupid bear.
Jack- Hey Monokuma admit to your crimes in killing the chemist and knocking out Zelda. You can not escape Justice unharmed evil villain. Come out and prepare to face swift justice from Jack the ultimate hero. HA ha ha ha.
Jack now waited for that bear to appear so he could deliver Justice to him.

[/font] As she came closer the tennis players words trailed off and and stopped in her tracks as she took in the sights that lay here before her. Two bodies lying here seemingly lifeless and only the hero and the artist around. Not a good look for the boys and as the young woman took in the sights it made her uneasy. Sure she talked a hard game but she didn't...I mean she didn't like s-...Whatever. Shaking herself out of her own fog, Hib sighed and massaged her temples trying to block out the sights of the chemist and the stood near the artist, careful to keep space between the two of them if only for the moment. "Well shit..." What else could she say? Well to answer that she leaning in closer to the artist and spoke into his ear in a voice that was barely over a whisper so nobody except Naoya here could hear what she had to say, referring back to the conversation she had had on that one fateful day "so much fer faith in our fellow man, eh?"[/ul]

Well, that was a pleasant surprise. As the days went by on Mars, Daniel couldn't help but notice that he had trouble breathing. Surely at some point all fifteen of them would have choked to death. But when he got up that day, he could breathe far easier, as if he was back on Earth.
Naturally, he knew what this meant: Someone died. Although he really didn't want to do it, he left his room and wandered around until he found Hibiki, Naoya and Jack standing there. That meant that he also saw the two bodies.
"Oh, shit.", Daniel said. "Two bodies on the first go?" He then walked over to Zelda first. After getting close, but not too close, he could see that she was still breathing. "Thank goodness.", he stated.
Then he looked at the other body. Zephyr, the Chemist. That guy wasn't so lucky. He was dead.
The Procrastinator scratched his head. "So, what comes next? It'll be troublesome, I bet."

A sound echoed through the Dome. "Ding-Dong-Ding-Dong." Afterwards, Monokuma's voice echoed from the scatted loudspeakers. "A body has been discovered! Following a brief period of investigation, we will commence the trial!"

I'd rather trust and regret than doubt and regret “Dead men are heavier than broken hearts.”The detective had spent his days on the space station so far conserving as much energy as he could. The ever looming timer of their limited oxygen supply hanging over everyone. He had taken a day to explore his room to full extend and was happy to find his trusty Beretta Model 92.After putting the gun back into it's holster under his coat he continued to lounge around. After that his actions on the station became limited once again, and now he could feel time running out. He had been calmly in his room on days, organizing his thoughts and everyone's profiles.Day break, at least, that's what he assumed. Being in space really doesn't allow for a good grasp of time. He sat himself up on the bed and was about to go through his morning ritual when something stood out.“The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.”He took another deep breath, then immediately stood up and walked out."Fresh air, and good amounts of it too. It only allows itself to end at one conclusion so.." But before the detective could finish his thought a certain voice echoed through the building "Ding-Dong-Ding-Dong." Afterwards, Monokuma's voice echoed from the scatted loudspeakers. "A body has been discovered! Following a brief period of investigation, we will commence the trial!"
"Damn it!" Jun began to increase his pace. "Someone really went and did it huh?" He shook his head as he passed various areas. He would't know where to begin searching if it wasn't for the commotion coming from the space plane hangar.
He slowed down as he approached, and as he turned the corner he quickly identified 4 students who had already gathered at the hangar. "Naoya, jack, Hibiki, Daniel" After that he scanned the room for the obvious, the body. On the floor were two students, the medium and the Chemist. After a quick observation he had determined that the chemist was the one to have been "Killed"
Another corpse for the morgue
He ruffled a hand through his hair, knowing full well he let his thought escape. The sight of a dead body was nothing new for the detective, but he knew it wasn't so for his fellow students. So he prepared himself for hallowing screams and stomachs turning. The detective himself was fired up and ready to get started, but the best thing would be to wait for the rest of the student body to arrive, knowing the bear he'd still have something up his sleeve. So Jun set himself against a wall and waited, his mind already racing.

Kairu laid back looking up into the star lit sky of mars, his mind wondering between reality and fantasy as his eyes attempted to create constellations from a constellation free sky. The days spent here on Mars were becoming more and more dull and no more discoveries were being made, the clock was ticking and no one was even a step closer to a potential escape. Kairu sighs, gaze still upwards at the constellations he was attempting to make, this distraction being nothing but a futile attempt which only proved to be more frustrating at this point. "It isn't the same, it isn't fair!" he mumbles in an annoyed tone now rolling to his side and glancing at the distant wall of the mars dome. "I want a discovery, I want to be of help. IT ISN'T FAIR!"
His mind wondered over his investigation of the Mars Dome so far, the areas he visited thus far and the fruitless results of each attempted discovery, only one area of interest remained at this point. "Maybe I should just fight that robotic dog......where else can I make a discovery?"
Suddenly, breaking the archeologist's train of thought.
"Ding-Dong-Ding-Dong. A body has been discovered! Following a brief period of investigation, we will commence the trial!"
Hearing that Kairu's body darted up quicker than it ever has since landing on mars, his eyes widening in disbelief over what Monokuma had just stated over loud speaker. "DID HE SAY DISCOVERED!" He bursts out in disbelief, sweat pouring down his face. "WHAT WAS DISCOVERED!?" he then further queries whilst cocking his head. Truth be told Kairu had missed the body part of the announcement and everything else upon hearing the trigger word "discovered' Hands twitching for excitement, he did not hesitate to put notepad in hand and rush through the dome at top speed.
"DISCOVERY! DISCOVERY! DISCOVERY! DISCOVERY! DISCOVERY! DISCOVERY! DISCOVERY! THIS IS MY CHANCE TO MAKE A DISCOVERY!" Chanting his favourite word, he dashed through the dome glancing everywhere for this fabled discovery. Hearing some form of commotion he presses towards the Space Hanger where several students had already gathered, slightly disgruntled others may have already beaten him to it. No matter it was time to be optimistic and make the most of this situation, with a big smile he turns the corner. "I AM HERE FOR THE DISCOVERY!!!!"
His loud outburst quick to reduce as he glances over the injured Zelda and the murdered student Zephyr. It was shocking and not what Kairu was wanting to see. "Oh, is that it?" He questions in a bored tone sighing whilst dropping his pen and notepad. "Is this what I think it is? Two crushed dreams?"

[googlefont="Boogaloo"][googlefont="Great Vibes"] PERFECTION IS THE CHILD OF TIME and i will be that child | Today was so far not a terrible day. Raiden had noticed, however, breathing had become easier to steady. Of course, he was practicing his technique to not use as much air, which meant that he wasn't breathing completely in all the time, just enough to function properly. Had the bear given up? Perhaps they had beat the bear? After all it wouldn't be any fun for the bear if they all died of asphyxiation because they were strong enough to take the obvious bluff. After all, Raiden truly believed that the bear wouldn't let them all die just because they were a stubborn lot. However, he still had a lot of work to make sure that no one would bow down to the bear's will ever again.
Raiden had risen from his bed early and decided that since the air seemed to be back on, he'd go for a jog around the dome. There seemed to be plenty of air and he really sorely needed to work out his body. However, it was just as he was going out of the building that a loud BANG rang through the area around the building. Raiden Yagami had just tripped over his shoelaces and landed flat on the ground. His nose was starting to bruise slightly and his glasses… well, one of the arms had completely broken off. After yelling a curse, Raiden pushed himself up to a sitting position and replaced his glasses on his face so he could actually see despite the one arm having been broken off. He'd scraped his knee, and his nose was bleeding slightly.
This was not how a perfect person did things.
Cursing loudly to himself he made his way back to his room and cleaned himself up and took a deep breath in. Ouch. His nose really hurt. Looking at it, it was really red and was already bruising. He tapped a finger against the bridge of his nose a couple times to test the tenderness. His glasses hurt just being on his face, but they were a necessity. If only he had tape. Either way, he balanced the glasses on his face so one would notice only if they really looked at the right side of his glasses. He kept the other arm in his pocket, and was hoping to find Monokuma to see if he could get something to repair his glasses. Or replace them. At least the blood stopped fairly quickly.
Nothing was going to plan. He was screwing up already. Raiden began beating the side of his head with his hand thinking things like 'bad Raiden bad'. And then it happened.
"Ding-Dong-Ding-Dong. A body has been discovered! Following a brief period of investigation, we will commence the trial!"
Raiden's eyes widened as he looked at himself in his bathroom mirror. He stared for a moment as he thought over the meaning. It couldn't be. No. No. One of them couldn't be dead. If that was true his dream of perfection was over because he had decided to save them all. He failed. He failed. No, it was just a ploy. That had to be it. Raiden took several breaths in and ran out of his room at the speed of lightning, as if he were in a game dashing to the other side of the court and then back and forth. His heart hadn't raced this fast ever since that game last year against his old team. Where he faced five on one. Where he completely demolished his replacement, and beat his team all of his own. But the feeling his heart was one similar, but completely different at the same time. Back then, perfection meant winning and that was what he was fighting for, against a team that made him feel like he was gone. But now, he felt the crushing defeat pushing down at his heart.
When he ended up in the Space Hanger where the others were, his heart immediately fell shattering into tiny little pieces. He stared for several moments at Zelda then up to where Zephyr was. They were both dead. And he failed them. He failed. He failed. He failed.
Raiden lowered his head and closed his eyes tightly as he mulled over things in his head. He couldn't achieve perfection. He had failed. He had completely failed. There was no way to win any more. His life's work was in tatters. His perfect record with winning when he said he would win was ruined. Therefore, perfection was out of his reach. He was just a dirty disgusting little boy who had dreams of something he would never be.
A low laugh came from his mouth, as the boy was possessed by something that wasn't… usual of him. At least of what he had displayed before. He didn't think he ever laughed like this. It was almost creepy the way he laughed now. He looked up and looked around. Ha. Ha. Ha. Perfection was completely unreachable. Perfection was just a dream. He was an imperfect being just like everyone else here. However, he still thought as he looked around, every one of these people could still be perfect while he lay down as the imperfect being he was and look up to those who could reach god status. These people. These people would be perfect. And only an imperfect being like himself could do make sure they did.
"Well didn't you all hear the bear?" Raiden laughed slightly louder and pushed his glasses farther onto his nose, though making sure to keep them balanced correctly (it seemed his habits he picked up while trying to emulate something he'd never be, were going to be hard to break), "Let's get to it. Figure out which one of you little shits did this and then see how they fell from the grace of perfection."

Aah, nothing like spending yet another day locked up in your own room Kaoru thought as he was lying down on the floor looking at the ceiling. After a few days of nothing but the same he noticed that it was much easier to breath which could only mean one thing. Even though he knew he really should go check for the body he didn’t feel like it, instead he took a nap.
He didn’t sleep for long before being woken up by some signal, he only heard a little of the end, though. It was easy to figure out what it was though, considering the loud “DISCOVERY” he heard repeatedly being shouted outside. He went up & opened the door, following the loud shouts. He was closing in on the space hangar.
He looked into the room, seeing a crowd of people. This must be it.
That's when he noticed the bodies. “What…? 2 bodies…? Who could’ve done this…?” As he said this he was walking into the room. He closed in on Zelda. “Oh wait, she’s still alive, huh?” he said rather nonchalantly. He looked at the others in the room. “So, was it one of you guys? Or does the culprit still need to come here to see their work?” He began smirking while saying this. “Maybe it was you, Naoya? I heard about what you apparently tried to do.” As he said this he was leaning towards the painter, smiling even more than before. He stopped. “Or maybe you’re just an innocent bystander, either way, we’ll find out soon enough.”

Wh...what...? Zelda's brain was a whirlwind of static and pain as she slowly opened her eyes. Everything was a dull grey, but...it was better than nothing. But..wait, what? This wasn't Zelda's room. Not her bed, but...but... No. She...she remembered, sorta. But it was such a blur.
Still, she had to sit herself up and find the others. Maybe she wasn't too late. But it was, in the worst way possible. Zelda tried to inhale, to no avail--the oxygen was gone. No one had done the fucking deed and now they would all die. She tried twice more, feeling her lungs curve inward and scream with sharp, stabbing pain. Her vision was starting to fade rapidly.
And then it came. Ambrosia known as oxygen. Her lungs flared up as she gulped air down greedily, coughing it up just as...er, elegantly. No, it was there, alright. ...So, something must've happened. But where was she? Her eyes analyzed the situation, and..oh, she definitely wasn't alone. How long had all these dudes been watching her sleep? Oi, but...why did they look so afraid? Clenched fists, defensive postures, hurt, angry, shocked expressions...that could only mean one thing.
"D-..coughcough...did so-something happen?"
Her eyes slid to the left as exhaustion began to set in, adrenaline leaving her--
And then surging back as she gazed at Zephyr's dead body.
"...N-No...what? This wasn't...it wasn't...why?"
The knot of despair in her stomach had slid up to her heart, and she felt as though it was any minute til the hammering in her chest suddenly stopped. Zephyr. Dead. In here. With her. And...others?
With a screaming sob, Zelda buried her face in her hands. In her head, his voice taunted her endlessly.

A late night's sleep was supposed to help her psyche, but all she could do was take a few more pills to help ease the headache that returned shortly after she woke up at this desolate hell hole. The stress was piling on despite no one forcing anything upon others, but she couldn't do anything but worry. She thought about taking off some layers to cool herself off, but decided against it in case of an emergency.
She eventually fell asleep after a long night of tossing and turning which, in turn, caused her to miss and sleep through the original morning announcement.
A sound echoed through the Dome. "Ding-Dong-Ding-Dong." Afterwards, Monokuma's voice echoed from the scatted loudspeakers. "A body has been discovered! Following a brief period of investigation, we will commence the trial!"
Iris woke up in a fright. The sudden announcement shook her up and she jolted upwards from her bed with her hands in covering her face. It felt easier to breathe, but that was the end of the good news. After wracking her brain around once more to remember the announcement she was woken by, her eyes grew wide as she let out a small scream where she quickly attempted to cover her mouth. It meant that someone died. It also meant that someone killed.
"No... Way..."
She muttered to herself.
"NO!"
She yelled.
She rushed quickly from her room after grabbing her bag and made her way to where the others were. She stared in a daze and looked at the others for some other answer; Hoping that it wasn't real. But it was true, someone was dead and we're now forced to look for their killer. She turned to the others and more specifically, Kaoru.
"Didn't you say you were going to prevent this? What ever happened to your speech. What EVER HAPPENED TO- I trusted that we could... We could save ourselves... And be free... Of this nightmare..."
Her frustration ended as soon as it began as she dropped down to her knees and began sobbing gently.
"I-*hiccup*-I'm sorry. I'm j-*hiccup*-just trying-*hiccup*-, shift the-*hiccup*- blame."
Iris is left on the ground wailing and trying to dry her tears with her sleeves.

Quiet. Uneventful. Boring. The only words to describe what Apollo had thought of everything so far. Apollo hadn't done much of anything, but be alone with his thoughts. He didn't feel like he needed to get to know any of the others there, sooner or later they would probably just die anyway, given how weak most of them seemed.
Apollo sat of the edge of his bed, lost in his thoughts. He had spent every minute thinking of what to do, how to escape. He wouldn't give in to some kidnapper's demands. He needed some way to get out...without any unnecessary casualties.
Apollo's eyes widened as he heard the chilling sound, the one that signaled the beginning and end of night time, but it felt unusual, the morning announcement had already come that day, and it wasn't close to night time yet.
"Ding-Dong-Ding-Dong. A body has been discovered! Following a brief period of investigation, we will commence the trial!"
"No..Fucking god dammit..."
Apollo shot up from his bed and ran out of his room. He had to see what had happened, see who had died. Apollo followed some of the others to the space plane hangar, and there he saw the bodies of two people. The one closest was the Medium, Zelda, though she seemed to still be breathing, and farther back, in the plane was Zephyr the Chemist.
Apollo clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. He couldn't believe this, someone was dead, and another was seriously injured. He looked around the room, a furious expression plastered across his face. "Which one of you cretins did this!?" Apollo's face was red with rage, he wouldn't let a murderer go free, he would find who did this.

Lindsay heard the alarm. However as she was in a...compromising situation it took her a bit to get her bearings. I mean God, the whole struggling to breathe thing was scary but it was also kinda hot. Maybe she was discovering a new interest in breathplay? When it came to the hard stuff she was a bit of a versatile, but had masochist leanings.
Oh yeah, enough about that. Story of the century. First death. And a beloved classmate was gone. Which come to think of it...it had gotten a bit easier to breathe. Anyway she had more important things to do. Lindsay couldn't afford to be dirty. Not today.
Lindsay raced to the space hanger, where everything seemed to be happening, and oh...it was Zephyr. Which was a shame really. He was pretty, and even if he wasn't he was a human being and they shouldn't just be cut down like that. Lives were important.
"...This...this is really bad. Poor Zephyr." Lindsay said, sadly.
The reporter nervously looked around the room. She wanted to take stock of everyone, see whether or not anyone looked suspicious. A couple of people were really freaking out. Zelda and Iris were both really sad. Lindsay hated when cute girls were sad. It almost always meant something legitimately bad had happened, at least in her experience.
It was also uncomfortably like looking into a mirror.
"Zelda....actually no one should blame themselves. The only one to blame here is Monokuma and the circumstances we are in." Lindsay said. Then she went over to Iris and dropped down to her level, she reached over to her in an attempt at comfort.
"It's ok Iris. Everything is going to be fine. We'll get through this." Lindsay said. Perverted thoughts aside she felt an inner warmth. The young reporter had always wanted to support someone like this. She just hadn't gotten a chance as an observer. Maybe now, here, she could finally be an actor and actively help others.
Lindsay hoped so anyway...anything else was a bit scary to contemplate.

Hazy. That was the best way to describe Yuukyoku's state of mind that morning. As time went on she wanted to spend less and less time out and about, for some obvious reasons. The less moving and more sleeping she did the less oxygen she used. It wasn't much but it might give them a few more minutes at least...
And the other reason was that the less out and about she was, the less likely she'd be an easy target if the coming suffocation led anyone to do the deed.
That morning she was awakened by the sound of bells, or rather a stock bell ring sound. Stirring from her slumber the Body Discovery Report followed quickly behind it. She heard it, but it took a moment to sync in.
A body had been discovered.
Someone had been killed.
Yuukyoku's heart sank. Someone had done it. They had fallen in to the Bear's mockery of the idea of a Game. The fresh air that they were promised was of no comfort in that fact.
Slowly she got ready and headed out to meet up with everyone. Not showing up would be suspicious. Merely existing could be suspicious. Making her way around she saw the crowd gathering at the Space Plane Hanger and approached the scene, slowly. Getting there so late did let her see one thing... How they were all reacting. Fear. Anger. Sadness. Confusion. All ingredients for Despair.
But what could she do? Last time her attempts to help fell on deaf ears. It wasn't like they were going to be more receptive of her now that one of them was a suspect. She could do nothing as she stood there watching a group of people would do exactly what that bear wanted them to do.
