GO HIGHER A sigh escaped the academy student, standing by herself once Alito, the guy who was screaming earlier, had collected himself. In fact, it seemed everyone has caught a slight grip on the situation, making it easier to keep tabs on her fellow students. The brunette glanced about, picking up on behaviours, particularly belonging to the reserved individuals. They seemed unfettered, possibly assessing whatever they could. Definitely, not the group she got along with. Then, there were the more livelier pack. They were more familiar thus easier to deal with. Nonetheless, unpredictable. Fifteen students, one still unconscious. None of them remembered how they got here. That wasn't good. She pondered more and more upon this, pacing around the deck of the ship. "So no one can't recall anything? I don't understand. How is that possible?" The seventeen year-old wondered, "There's got to be an explanation to this..." Step by step, the brunette girl wandered until she came across of a lone door at the rear of the vessel. The girl blinked several times, feeling that she could find answers elsewhere. "Maybe we can find out where we are.." she uttered, walking closer to the door. Perhaps it was her hope of finding out what's really going on. No one seemed to pay any attention to her, which was probably a good thing. Odd, yet good. There was no point in standing around looking helpless. That wasn't her way. KAI'K @ WICKED WONDERLAND

Arare's upbeat smile turned into a pout, one obviously made in for effect and not for sadness, as Jun Yamazaki first replied to her. He then went on to introduce himself and ask her abour some of the other peoples' chance at survival.
"Well, first off it's not that hard to tell that we're at least stuck on this boat, and you're right. Something like this is probably too eccentric for Hope's Peak." Her smile returned as she continued. "But it does seem like my feeling led me to the right place. Odds are a Detective would be one of the best here to figure out what is going on here..."
Looking over at the loud group she seemed to focus on them for a moment. "I wounldn't say that their chance of survival is directly tied to their initial reaction to this situation. Sure, it could lower their chances, but then again it could raise them, right?"
She turned back to look at him. "After all, as I know, part of Luck is just having the sincere Hope that everything will work out in the best way."

Monokuma was watching from afar, wearing a pirate hat and eyepatch over his red eye, a sword at the ready. No one had noticed him atop the sails at this point, and he preferred to keep it that way for now. The bear silently laughed as he watched, the despair already making its way into their minds. One was attempting to throw up, another was screaming, and two were still unconscious; how lazy of them. The uncovered eye scanned over the crowd of children and soon it was hard to keep the laughing in, covering his mouth with his paw. However, then his eyes found the girl who had tried to throw up just moments ago trying to comfort the one who screamed. Oh. Oh this will be fun. He just had to wait for the perfect time to drop down. This group would be fun. More fun than that group at the school, who admittedly beat the bear’s controller (still, he was an AI at this point, thanks to the Ultimate Despair tricking that programmer before the Despair began into making him). These students were far more interesting. And there was no possible way they could beat him. Despair would win. Despair would crush the remaining hope within this world. Despair would be victorious. And it would be amazing. The sail the bear sat upon fell, undoing itself, and Monokuma forced back another laugh as he looked down, careful not to reveal himself prematurely, he just had to wait until the perfect moment to make his appearance. He wanted everyone to be awake at that point, but his excitement almost made him jump down in his pirate garb and start introducing the game. Oh, just thinking about their faces when the mutual killing game was introduced sent another laugh trying to sound its way out. There was only one left now, when one of the girls jumped to her feet. But this eyes darted to the Captain’s Chambers and a girl was trying to open it. Of course she would find it locked, but oh, Monokuma could resist. He jumped from the sail, all the way across the deck and landed on top of the Captain Chamber’s roof. That girl. He knew exactly what she was. And he needed to get rid of her as fast as possible. “No one is allowed to enter the captain’s chamber!” Monokuma pointed at the girl with his paw. “And I’m the captain!” He placed the same paw against his chest. “That means… punishment.” He made a scowl and barred his teeth as a mini-monokuma came up from behind her whacked her on the back of her head, as Monokuma pulled out a giant bazooka and shot at her middle, all happening within a split second. Good thing Monokuma had checked before to make sure that no one would be in the line of sight. Teruru Momose was dead. Monokuma laughed and he turned to everyone else. “I suggest no one else tries to break the rules.” Monokuma knew that the girl had been a traitor. That stupid foundation sent her. And he wasn’t going to let her ruin his despair fun. “Please refer to your e-Handbook for all of the other rules. Go on, read up.” He wanted to see them read, see the second last rule as their faces slowly turned to despair. Rule 1: No entering the Captain’s Chambers. Rule 2: No jumping ship (He was going to let them find out about the force field that would bounce back any living human who tried.) Rule 3: Nighttime happens from 10pm to 7 am, some areas will be restricted, please exercise caution. Rule 4: Sleeping anywhere other than the dormitory will be seen as sleeping in class and punished accordingly. Rule 5: With minimal restrictions, you are free to explore the S.S Despair at your discretion. Rule 6: Violence against Captain Monokuma is strictly prohibited, as is destruction of surveillance cameras. Rule 7: Anyone who kills a fellow student and becomes "blackened" will graduate, unless they are discovered. Rule 8: Additional school regulations may be added if necessary. ( Music) It all happened to quicky. Ms. Vomit walked near one of the rooms, and out of bloody nowhere a bear appeared and shot her! It was a funky-looking bear, one half white, the other half black wearing an admittedly sweet eyepatch and captain's head. "This thing's the captain...?" Luigi thought once the bear announced it to the group. "And rules? What rules? What e-Handbook?"
The Butcher then rummaged through his pockets until he pulled out what looked like some sort of mini tablet. Looking at it, Luigi saw his information such as height, weight and talent. "Oh, this thing apparently." He blurted out. "Let's see here..." he quietly said. With that, he read the rules one after another. "Not entering the Captain's Quarters, huh? Well, we just saw what happened..."
The second-to-last rule took him by surprise. Looking at the strange pirate bear, he shouted "What the flying fuck? Yeah, I, Luigi Sanguene, am a Butcher, but I kill animals, not people! I don't have any reason to off these people, at least not yet!" He then scratched his head in utter confusion. "I mean, sure, we're highschool students, but how do we graduate from a ship? And who was the one who bit the dust right now?"
Luigi then looked at the girl's corpse and then back to the bear. "Wow, looks like you're not screwing around at all." He commented. "I'm sure there's a catch to Rule 7 though, isn't there? What happens if we are discovered?" He felt that all the other rules were pretty self-explanatory and therefore didn't inquire further. He thought that the others should have their fun with the robot bear thing as well.

Paris blanched as the events unfolded before their eyes, and the girl hit the floor. Dead. Dead? That didn't make any sense, nor did the insane fucking teddy bear that had just murdered her. The Librarian had always cursed technology, and this was the proof. What. The. Hell. Clutching Ryuu's arm, they began to speak.
“What the—I...what are you?! You're some conspiracy theory come true, aren't you?! Some filthy treacherous thing s-sent to spy on us from the government...This is...it's...” Their legs gave way, the small highschooler hitting the ground roughly. “R-rules...?”
Reading through them, their blood settled into their feet as the final few rules were read. “No.” It was a simple declaration. “No.” This was all too much, the world was spinning, the ship felt like it was rocking even harder and trembling, and before the Librarian could regain their balance, they sunk sideways and hit their head against the floor with a sickening thud.
In their unconsciousness, Paris dreamed. A murder mystery, but this was no mystery when a bear dressed as a pirate swung around murdering teenagers. Now, there were fifteen. And then there would be none. Somewhere, the thought floated through Paris' brain. Somewhere, Agatha Christie is laughing.

'This can't be real, right? That cannot be a real dead body over there' Penelope thought in denial. She knew it was. In the span of a few short moments the rest of her entire life was changed. Penelope fell to her knees, tears forming at the tips of her eyes.
"Why!?!" She screamed, "Why would you do that!?!"
Slowly regaining enough sanity to think the shsl tattoo artist reached into her skirt pocket and found what must be the e-handbook. It was hard to read with watery eyes, but she managed to make out the words. As she made it to the second last rule her heart stopped.
"Why would we murder each other? there's no way I could do that" she whispered to herself. "How can this be happening?"
After hearing Luigi talk Penelope's voice got caught in her throat. 'how can he be so calm about this, and what does he mean by not yet?' she thought. 'What if he takes this seriously and tries to murder someone?'
Hearing a thud Penelope turned to see another student fall to their knees as well. Except this one also fainted. Penelope tried to get to her feet but her legs betrayed her and she was back on the ground. She started to crawl over to where the person fell. They hit their head hard, and she could not stand to see another person die right in front of her.

He opened his mouth to respond to Arare, before he could do so he got cut off by a rustling from the sails. And a few seconds later a black and white bear popped down from, what seemed like, the heavens. As it went on to ramble something about punishment something awful happened. The bear killed the woman.... as punishment. Jun quickly switched gears and swiftly moved ever so in front of Arare and was ready for the bears next move.... which didn't come, luckily. People started to panic, and why shouldn't they? A fellow student had been killed right in front of everyone. The shock visible on people's faces. Jun tried to stay as clear minded and calm as possible, carefully observing the bear. As soon as the bear was done with his rules Jun rustled his pockets for this E-Handbook, his view locked on the so called "Captain" of this boat. And sooner rather than later Jun found the Handbook in his pocket, and he turned it on. First it displayed his name. After that it restated the rules that had just been told. The next thing to do was to try and remain calm. "Kill, don't be discovered and you're free to go? What's the catch?" Jun thought to himself. And figured he might as well pose the question, better to have clarity right? "OI! CAPTAIN!" That should capture his attention. "So how exactly do we 'graduate' huh? Kill someone and throw the corpse off the boat and no one will be any the wiser. What's the catch?" Too direct? Yes. Antagonizing? Yes, will everyone see him as a threat now? Definetly

Monokuma laughed as ripples went through the crowd of students. Questions, passing out, things like that. Always good fun. He grabbed his belly and continued to laugh. But once that passed, he straightened his pirate hat and began to address the questions. “What happens if you are discovered? You’ll be punished accordingly.” Monokuma barred his teeth in the most threatening way possible, then resuming a completely innocent pose. “Graduation means that you can get off of this ship. And the only way to graduate is to kill a fellow student. After someone is found dead, we’ll have a… class trial. There you will accuse the person you think is the murderer. If you pick wrong, the murderer graduates and can leave this ship.” Monokuma, with his super bear hearing heard the purple haired girl, but decided to let her wallow in despair for now. Someone was shouting at him. Hey! They called him captain. Oh this was good. “You could, but then we wouldn’t know someone was murdered, would we? It wouldn’t count if we can’t find the body.” There, fixed the loophole. Damn, maybe he should think everything over. Well, as long as they came up with ways to go around his rules, he could find a way around those loopholes. It happened sometimes. He puked. Tamashi Kasai, the solver of many mysteries, seer of any corpses....just puked. He has seen corpses, but not the moment of death. There's no way he could know it would be so....brutal.....disgusting....*despair inducing* "OK, let me get this perfectly straight, Captain Panda. You're saying to get off this damned plank of wood in the middle of nowhere, we have to kill one of our fellow students here, and not get caught doing it, correct? And if the "blackened" is caught, they are punished. If they aren't, they graduate.....what about the rest of us? Do we continue life as though nothing had happened?"

[/b] Oh god, he was gonna be sick. The brunette who minutes earlier had calmly been speaking to one of his fellow classmates, a girl who had been soothing the paniced teens, someone who had been enrolled as the Heroines of Heroines was lying there in the middle od the deck, life having left her blue eyes, face now eternally etched in horrified pain and silence. The skateboard that Kenji had so lovingly tucked under his arm as if it were his pride and joy clatters to the ground with a loud clack and the skaterhead takes a couple of shaky steps backwards, all positive vides be may have been feeling earlier completely vanished. "This...This ain't really happin, is it? This has ta be a trick."A feeble excuse if there ever was one, but right now it was all he had. While his fellow horrified students screamed, or studied these ebooks or whatever, some even confronting the stuffed bear, Kenji can't seem to tear his eyes away from the girl who, moments earlier had been so filled with life and now lay in a growing pool of her own blood. Almost as if he could somehow will the girl back to life if he stared long and hard enough. "Can't...Can't be real. This can't be happing..."[/ul]

It came as a shock, but at the same time, it was completely expected. A situation so bizarre and unexplained couldn't possibly be good news, and the girl's death affirmed that, banishing all doubt.
He skimmed the rules, keeping eyes pointedly averted from the corpse. Refusing the thought of her being real, that she'd actually shown concern for him at one point. No. Focus.
The rules. This was a game. The bear was playing a strange, deadly game. He slid his hand into his pocket, feeling around.
It was there. A glass chess piece, a good luck charm and the first thing he'd stolen. He'd kept it hidden for years, kept it close. This all reminded him somehow of that moment.
No jumping ship?
He quietly sidled over to the side of the deck, and flung the chess piece out into the ocean.
It shattered. In midair, as if having collided with something, it just... Broke. He took a startled step back. That was unexpected.
"Hey! Weird bear thing! What's up with that?" He turned and stared demandingly at Monokuma, although seeming somewhat surprised at his own speaking up.

Oh blah, blah, blah so many questions. Why couldn’t they just learn on their own? He loved all the despair that was going around, but if they knew everything? Well, it wouldn’t be as fun. So he decided that he would answer one last question. He saw one of the kids throwing a chess piece over board and using his super bear powers (also known as radio waves from a mechanical bear suit) strengthened the force field so the inanimate object would hit the force field before returning it to original strength. “Did I forget to mention?” There was the laugh again, the ‘upupupupupu’ they would learn to fear. “A safety precaution in case someone tries to escape. There is no hope of escaping.” Then Monokuma jumped all the way over to the sail that one of kids had unfurled moments ago, looking diligently up to the sky, as if posing for something. “No more questions. Have fun killing each other.” And then he sunk into the wood pole the held the sail and did not appear on the other side. Oh, exits were quite fun. And he could still see everything that was going on. Oh, this was going to be a fun killing game, Monokuma knew it. Once everyone responds to Monokuma, we'll go back to the original posting order.

fear is not an option luck is not a factor,
Ryuu was about to say the first words since waking up to Paris (was Paris a girl or a boy or… no, it didn’t matter, Paris wasn’t a human being like him, he was just a tool he had to try to get off of this ship). But there was something that struck Ryuu. He… felt bad for the kid (was probably about the same age as he was, but he still used the term when referring to anyone that was still a minor). He could remember a time when he was a lot like him. Three years ago, in fact, before… well, something happened. He preferred not to think about it. It was then that he began distancing himself from everyone else so he wouldn’t have to worry. If he had done that three years ago, fewer people would’ve died, and when he finally did, he brought back five people as opposed to none. Regardless of the loss.
But then the bear appeared and Ryuu watched with curiosity. One girl, she was killed. No big deal. She was going to die anyways. N2 was dead. But no matter. Her body could be put to use. She was expendable anyways. Perhaps they could check if there were sharks in the water.
When prompted, Ryuu reached into his pocket to find the ‘e-Handbook’, then finding the rules on the screen. He finished reading extremely quickly, his mind mulling over Rule 7. Then he listened to the bear’s explanations. However, he was distracted when Paris grabbed hold of him and he looked to the kid. Was it fear that he showed on his face as he did? Was he truly worried for this kid? Damn it. He just realized he hadn’t been calling him by his designation, but calling him a kid instead. Distance. He told himself. He shouldn’t care. Even if he… kind of liked the kid. If the kid died… then it would be more hurt. He couldn’t go through any more hurt.
And yet, when the kid fell over, Ryuu attempted to catch him, missing until after he hit his head, then helping the kid to the ground. He turned back to the bear, and closed his eyes. He had so many questions to ask, but then the bear jumped away. Calm down. Do not take the bait.
“It doesn’t matter.” Ryuu was speaking aloud, and hopefully everyone listened to him. “As long as no one kills anyone else, I will get us out of here.” He was clenching his teeth, attempting to reign in emotion and reestablish his distance. He wasn’t the master at distance, but he sure as well would try, especially in this situation.

Whoa! A bear! And it talked! So cool! Wow, Asher couldn’t get over the fact there was a talking bear. Sure, the girl who had yelled at him was laying on the floor like a lazy person. Silly girl sleeping like that. Plus that pink liquid was all over her. Asher wondered why. Maybe she needed a band-aid. He knew that when he hurt himself, he let that pink liquid out all the time. Yeah. Oh! Maybe that medical girl could help! Asher looked towards the girl who had said she was some sort of medical person, but for some reason, everyone else seemed to be surprised and not happy because of it. Hm. That wouldn’t do. She had to wake up and show everyone she was okay so they were happy again.
Asher read the rules and looked around. Many seemed to be freaking out over nothing. Hm. What was the big deal? It just meant that they wouldn’t get off the ship. No big deal right? He was sure the government would find them and save them eventually if that really was the case. They just had to wait. Though, what if the bear was the government. Well, then they better get along, because they would be living with each other for awhile.
Asher quickly walked up to her and bent down to the girl (who he didn’t realize was dead) and whispered to her. “Hey, can you get up? Everyone’s worried about you.” But she didn’t reply. Asher lightly tapped her face and whispered a little more urgently. “Seriously, get up. Everyone’s sad. I know you were angry at me, but this is mean. Hurt me instead of everyone else, okay? Now get up!” He raised his voice towards the end and slapped her as hard as he could, his jeans now getting soaked in her blood, and some blood splattering as he did. It was just cruel, this prank she was pulling. People were upset, why wouldn’t she just wake up?
“Fine be that way.” Asher stood up and turned away from everyone else and leaned his head against the wall next to the captain’s chambers, though not the door. She was just being so mean. He didn’t understand why.

"No... No way...this isn't happening!" Lucca stumbled onto the floor, unable to stop staring at the corpse. His mouth was gaping, and there was a chill running down his spine. He had never seen a real dead body before, the most he had seen were props for movies, never the real thing. The overwhelming smell of blood was unbearable. He could feel his stomach start to twist and turn. And then suddenly...oh no... Lucca got up and quickly ran to the side of the ship. He could feel the urge to throw up get bigger and bigger, until it was too much to bear. Lucca puked into the ocean, though it was only bile, as he had not eaten that day.
After his...incident, Lucca had turned to look at the bear right in the eyes. Lucca usually never got angry, but right now, his eyes, showed a rage deep within his soul. "N-No...That's bullshit..THAT'S COMPLETE FUCKING BULLSHIT! Do you actually expect us to believe that!? There's no way any of us are stupid enough to believe any of that crap! None of us are going to kill anyone!" Lucca looked around at the others, and could see fear in most of their eyes. He could tell they were feeling the same way.
"You can't just kidnap us expect to get away with it, you FUCKING SATANIC BUILD-A-BEAR! Someone will find us, you can be sure of that!"
Lucca began to start calming down, and his breathing returned to its regular pace. He looked again at the corpse of Teruru. "Look...just look at what you did you fucking monster..."
