Naoya Akamura If only our hopes could have twinkled like the stars over our heads. 437 Words Hibiki truly has a way for words | After all that transpired in the dome center, Naoya couldn't help but wander around and calm himself down a bit. However, it became clear after just a few minutes that finding relaxtion in this place was going to be a bit impossible. Not even soley for the fact that they were on.. well, a different planet. If this place had more places to observe the outside, it might have been a bit tranquil for him. To simply dream of the type of beauty that could be inspired by that view. Instead, their captor opted for and uneasy, and utterly lifeless atmosphere for the station.
With a sigh, he rested his back on the wall, right in the middle of a hallway. It was cold to the touch, but not to the point of bothering him. His eyes closed as he tried his best to escape from that moment of discomfort. He just pictured his home. Sunlight pouring in through his window. The feeling of his brush softly sliding on a canvas. Of a pencil snapping as he drew a portrait. Stress clouding his mind as he tried to reach deadlines. Accomplishment when he was proud of a piece. Anger as he destroyed what he thought of as an ugly failure. A comforting giggle. Footsteps echoing in the hall.
His eyes opened. Those footsteps weren't a part of his daydreams. They were a bit distant, but he certainly heard them.
Creeping down the hallway, he figured that whoever they were, they were near the habitation rooms. He hadn't heard a door open though.. the steps just stopped. Cautiously, he walked, trying to stay as quiet as a feather, until he peaked his head around the corner. There, Hibiki seemed to be messing with the lock on a door. The nameplate certainly didn't read Hibiki Shima, either.
With a grimace, he rounded the corner. He just knew keeping an eye on her might have been a good idea.
"Try not ta bite it too soon. That'd be borin'" Just that line unnerved him to the bone. Like she was giving into this game that the damn bear was trying to set up. Staying near the corner, he spoke up.
"So.. Kaoru. Having trouble getting into your room?" He made sure it was obvious by the tone that, no, he wasn't confusing Hibiki with Kaoru. With a slightly anxious sigh, he spoke, trying to keep his emotions capped.
"...What do you think you're doing, Hibiki?"

[/i] Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck, things were off to a terrific start. How could she be this damn careless already to be caught doing something totally not at all shady, normally if there was anything in the world she was good at besides tennis it was knowing how to keep a lookout for things to make sure Johnny Jerkoff didn't see anything he wasn't supposed to. Turning her head slightly to the side so she could see who had caught her, only to see that it was….Aw hell, who was that again? It waaaas….Zephyr? No, Zepher was the one jackass who didn’t seem to be much of a people pleaser. This was the artist right, something..Akamura. Naoto? No that wasn’t right. Naruto..Naomi…Naoya! It was Naoya, she was so pleased with herself for remembering, not gonna lie. This pleasure didn’t stop her from emitting a soft, semi audible " Tch." when confronted by the artist and she only stopped doing what she was doing to the lock on the door to (not exactly glare but it was clear the artist wasn’t exactly a welcome site here) at the young man who felt the need to appear out of nowhere. The absolute gall. "Wear a bell or somethin. Ya'll give someone a heart attack creepin around like that."Asshole, she thought but wisely for a change didn't say out loud. She hadn’t really planned this far ahead if the truth was to be told, she hadn’t even thought of what she’d do if she had managed to by sheer dumb luck to be able to break into somebody’s room so she didn’t have a cover story thought up for why she was here trying to get into a room that so clearly wasn’t hers. Think Hibiki think, you can bluuf your way out of this. You’ve been able to talk your way out of far worse situations before with people way more intimidating than some dumb painter dude. Maybe she’d get lucky and he’s just get bored and leave, or he’d just kind of drop de- ""...What do you think you're doing, Hibiki?"Aw fuck. Finally turning around to fully face the person who had caught her red handed, Hibiki crossed her arms across her impressive chest and scowled at the boy who felt the need to play private dick here. Okay, so plan of saying shit all didn’t seem like it was gonna pan out. Maybe jump right to plan B, go on the offensive? Seemed like a solid tactic. "Well, I didn't know we were close enough ta be on a first name basis there, don't I feel just fuckin special." she said with all the enthusiasm of someone who had just been told she had earned the right to pay even more money in taxes to the government. Rolling her pretty blue green eyes once, Hibiki gave the tiniest of one shoulder hand shrugs that was really little more than one shoulder kind of twitching upwards for half a second, raising one eyebrow at the artist who so far had asked questions that seemed like they were incredible easy to answer on his own. "You tell me there boy wonder. 'th fuck's it look like I'm doin?" and then turned her attention back to the lock to see if there was a way she could fickle with it any more. This had been a productive meeting. Thanks Naoya Naoya Akamura [/ul]

Naoya Akamura If only our hopes could have twinkled like the stars over our heads. 366 words - | If circumstances had been normal, and these two had just run into each other in the hallway of a school, or something along those lines, he would have immediatly apologized for giving the girl such a startle. Even if she was a bit rude. However, for obvious reasons, he was very on edge right at that moment. He had caught Hibiki Shima, crouched down, examining someone elses door, and she didn't even show any shame in it.
With a deep breath, he remained distant from her, just watching as her sea colored eyes seemed to stare down the door. Luckily, the doors to their rooms seemed to be locked exclusively with their Electro ID's. Hopefully that meant there was at least no quiet way to break into someone's room.
"..." He slid his right hand into his pocket, before stepping forward slowly, stopping after a few feet. "Looks like you're trying to figure out what makes these doors tick.. Would probably be smarter to do that with your own, don't you think?" The words spilled from his mouth in a monotone. The artist's face remained as stoic as possible, but his eyes likely gave off that he was, you may say, a bit peeved.
"Seriously, Ms. Shima. Is it not a bit early for this?" Not that Naoya thought that in a few days, this would be perfectly acceptable behavior. But he had assumed, if anyone was planning something, they'd at least take a day or two to collect themselves. "It's these kind of actions.. inspecting locked doors, and such, that's going to provoke people, you know. We're all enough on edge."
With a pause, he looked left, all the way down the hall. Then right. It didn't seem like anyone was nearby, but then again, he sneaked up on her just fine.
"If people find out you're already doing this, they could get the wrong idea. Some might even feel threatened, and that could lead to..." There's that pessimism again. He internally scolded himself, trying to not dwell on just the worst case scenarios. "Well, I'm sure you can guess." His tone wasn't threatening, but more so uneasy. The thought certainly worried him. |

[/i] "Ey, give that man a kewpie doll." Yes she chose to ignore the smartass comment he made the end of that thought because she was trying to concentrate here and really he was being quite rude. Can't a girl not break into somebody's room in peace anymore, god what has the world come to. Although now that she thought about it they were on a new world right? Maybe this was just the way things worked on Mars, and Mars was just a rude bullshit planet. "Seriously, Ms. Shima. Is it not a bit early for this?"[...]"It's these kind of actions.. inspecting locked doors, and such, that's going to provoke people, you know. We're all enough on edge."It's a good thing that she had her back to the artist, because if he could see her face now he's have seen the small smile that had come over the greenhaired tennis pro. She had thought she would get this speech from someone sooner or later, did she think it would happen right off the bat? No. But hey I guess to was better to get it out of the way so she didn't have to hear it later. Sighing wearing the girl pushed herself back to her feet right after she had squatted down and put a hand on her hip as she looked the artist dead in the eye like he was the one confused about something here "On tha contrary, Akamura. Now's tha perfect time." Yeah Naoya, God get your shit together. Hibiki pushed long strands of seagreen hair away from her eyes with an annoyed huff sometimes having lots of pretty long hair was such a pain and a half in the ass to deal with, but there were more important things to deal with right now than her hair. She had some hooks to bait. A scene to set "Right now, people are still confused. They don't know what ta do, who ta trust. They think they can still get along an hold hands and sing happy bonding songs, or other hippydippy bullshit. What'a waste of time, that's never interested me..." She raps herself on the temple a few times with a fingernail to show that she is in fact talking about herself. What are the odds. "But tha bear's strange kill or be killed game. Welll..." A small flash of teeth as she grinned at the artist in an act that was completely and totally 100% normal. "Shit, that's somethin I can sink my teeth inta. An if I'm gonna play I gotta set my pieces up on tha board while nobody else is around ta knock em off, right?"Naoya Akamura [/ul]

Naoya Akamura If only our hopes could have twinkled like the stars over our heads. 446 Words I'm tired and dying, sorry for any errors | From where he was standing, Hibiki sure did have a certain predatory aura about her, as she seemed to make it fairly clear exactly what archetype she filled in a life or death situation like this. It was moments like this that Naoya often payed far too much mind to minuscule details. As her eyes bore into his, he returned the stare, feeling as if he was staring into a sharks black eyes. The sharp grin she gave off screamed anticipation to catch the prey. Yeah. From where he was standing, Hibiki Shima seemed like the kind of person who would face this head on, without fear. Perhaps she'd even relish in the game. That certainly didn't seem like false bravado.
His arms gross, and he couldn't help but clench his fist on his white sleeve. Though he was fairly good at hiding emotions, in all honestly, the painter was afraid. In reality, as much as he tried to fight it, Naoya suspected some of them may be like this. But still, to just be so upfront about it. Their conversation painted a bleak picture of the next two weeks. If they live that long.
"Maybe." Naoya spoke, though in a far more hushed and subdued tone than before. His eyes fell down from the tennis pro's eyes, to the floor. "Though, you realize you'd have to get away with it. Otherwise, you may as well be killing yourself." And again, his eyes shot up to her, and his tone almost returned to normal. Though, it had a bit of condencendence weaved into it now. "Maybe you're prepared to set your pieces. Getting ready to make a move, even. But you think you're going to cover your tracks from thirteen other people who are supposed to be the best of the best?" His eyes narrowed. A seed of doubt. Doubt wouldn't just cloud his will. It may cloud hers as well.
"Consider those videos that Monokuma showed us. What if all those murders were from the same group.. That would mean each and everytime, the murderer would be caught. And, well.." He began to pace a bit, walking a few feet from Hibiki, than back towards her. "I think we have some smart people here. And if they decide to cooperate, it could be even harder to get away with murder."
"Think carefully about it. You could get yourself killed." Despite truly believing in his words, it was a facade. If he was truly one hundred percent confident this group, he wouldn't exactly be standing there, trying to pump Hibiki's brain with reasons to not act on whatever schemes may be bumping around in her head. |

[/i] She didn't have a response to this, instead deciding to turn her back to the boy (always smart to turn your back to someone when you don’t know who’s got your head on a chopping block. Good going Hibiki) and instead chose to focus intently on trying to basically will the lock to break and not to let Naoya's words have any effect on her psyche. But God damn it she hated to admit it but he had a point and probably admitting that she was trying to see if the rooms could be broken into wasn’t the brightest idea she’s ever had if one of these losers ever did nut up and kill somebody. Cursing at herself under her breath while the artist really tried to drive home the fact he highly doubted she’d (or anyone but her in particular for this instance) would be able to full everyone if she ever committed a murder and she clenched her jaw as tightly shut as she could to keep from saying something stupid, so tightly in fact a few of her teeth started to hurt. "Think carefully about it. You could get yourself killed." "See. Ya seem ta be misunderstandin somethin. Must be tha accent, it can cause some miscommunication, I know." Fuck it, fine. Taking only the amount of time it took to blow small tufts of green hair out of the corner of her mouth, Hibiki pushed herself up to her full height and leaned against the wall of the door she had been working on as she studied the artist properly for the first time. He didn’t really look that tough, but she’s thought that about people before and been surprised who who can really tell these things at first viewing? “I ain’t lookin ta kill anybody. Yet, anyhow.” Don’t focus on the yet, you’ll drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what makes her pretty green head’s insides tick. Instead Hibiki once again flashing the pearly whites in a totally charming and not-at-all dangerous attempt at a smile, because if there was one thing Hibiki was, it was completely and totally docile. “I’m just nudging things along so the show can start an I can grab myself a prime row seat fer the game."…I’m not so sure that’s at all better than what he may have thought Hibiki. Still the eighteen-year-old tennis star shrugged as if she had just said she was waiting for a ride to the grocery store instead of waiting for people to start murdering each other because most people would think that was a fucking insane thing to say or think, and ask themselves "what the fuck is wrong with me I should probably see a doctor" or some shit like that. “An' someone will snap. Ya know it deep down in yer soul, don’t ya? It’s simply human behavior ta prioritize yer life over some strangers, yeah?”[/ul]

Naoya Akamura If only our hopes could have twinkled like the stars over our heads. WORDS 347 - | The air in the hallway seemed to still after Hibiki finished her borderline sinister declaration about how someone would eventually snap and spill blood. It didn't sit quite right with him, to say the least. In fact, he practically wanted to knock her lights out right then and there, but held himself against the wall. Probably for the best, he didn't exactly have a lot of muscle on his body. She could curb stomp him if she really wanted. Best not to give her a reason.
"Well, I guess that's the biggest difference between us." His eyes fell to the floor, making him look more depressed than anything. A dry, solemn sigh escaped him as his arms folded tightly, bringing him some warmth in the chilly hallways. Easy to say their extra distance from the sun wasn't doing them any favors whatsoever. "I have a bit more.. faith in them than you do, I suppose. A bit."
He wasn't in denial, or anything. It certainly was possible that, even sometime soon, someone was going to get antsy, watching their life tick away, and act like an idiot. He'd like to believe someone wouldn't act so hasty though.
"You truly don't believe there's any other way off this planet, do you?" Then again, that was pretty natural to assume. Even if they could beat the Mastermind, getting off Mars itself was no easy feat, especially if they couldn't restore the life support. "Well.. Can't fault you for that, I suppose. Still, keep your eyes open while you're snooping, why don't you?" Naoya twirled a bunch in his bangs around his finger as he got lost in thought again.
"Be careful, Ms. Shima. You may want a front row seat now, but that can often be the splash zone, if you know what I mean." Well, she was the one that made the seating analogy in the first place. "You try to push people along to making hasty decisions, and you may find yourself with consequences. I'd hate to see you throw your life away." |

[/i]Ha, adorable. It took everything the green haired girl had to not openly laugh in his face because how could anyone actually be this naive? Had he lived in a box his entire life up until the point when someone had for whatever reason decided this sack of meat was ready for public interactions but he didn’t seem to understand how people operated. As things stood they were all on a ticking clock counting down to a slow painful death and Hibiki had a hard time believing that there was nobody who would be scared or desperate to save themselves enough to commit a grave violent sin. “I think, that we were given a deadline. I think that most people ain’t satisfied ta just sit around an’ wait ta die.” Hibiki shrugged here again because this all seemed pretty reasonable to her in her head when she thought these things but hey maybe that was just because she had a handle on how people worked around here. Shrugging the green haired could have sworn she had said this mere moments ago why she was waiting for the resulting shit show when somebody got selfish and ganked somebody else but apparently the artist had a hearing problem. It was human nature to save your own skin if given a choice, right? The human animal was one that was defined by violence and cowardice above anything else, nobody would sacrifice themselves for a complete stranger out of the goodness of their heart. However even as someone as pretty and naïve as Naoya can say something to catch her attention sometimes, and in this case it was something about front rows and splash zones. It was at that show with the whales that are tortured all the time "If someone has tha stones ta try an' kill me, I invite them ta give it their best shot. They ain't the first, won't be the last." Far from it, truthfully. But, nobody wants to see a full backstory explained in chapter one. His words hitting closer to home than the green haired girl would have liked to admit, Hibiki stood up and folded her hands behind her head, trying to make it seem like she couldn’t care less about what was going on the tennis player walked towards the artist and down the hall where he had come from in the first place. "But, I'm bored so I guess I'll quit for tha day." Who says she isn’t reasonable? As she started towards her own room Hibiki paused as she passed the artist, trying to decide if she really had the right to say something else and then decided fuck it, who cares if she had the right or not she did what she wanted around here and who was gonna stop her? Not this guy, not today. He had his chance and he decided to pass on it, so cry about it buttercup. "If I were you, I'd watch my own back instead of poking yer nose in my business, Akamura. Ya never know which one of these fuckers will put the knife in it. Don't trust anybody." And with that and a small knowing wink, she slouched off back to her room, trying not to look half as annoyed as she really was. Charming as always. [/ul]
