| Angie sat back on the reading-chair she had in her room, a book on her lap and her laptop that filled the room with pleasant, soft music. In her right hand she held a shot glass, one that was filled with liquor. It's a little secret of hers that she keeps a small stash of drinks hidden away in her room (courtesy of her uncle – the love for alcohol runs in the family. He did made her promise to drink responsibly though, so it wasn't too irresponsible.) There really isn't a real reason for her sudden urge to open a bottle tonight (though it's already half-empty). It really was out of a whim. She went to class in the morning – the teachers were droning on about things that she already had a pretty good grasp on, and that bored her greatly so. Formal education was surprisingly dull at times, and while HPA was her first 'proper' school, Angie found that it wasn't much of a hassle for her to catch up on all those lost years. Because of that, she quickly begun to develop a habit of skipping classes every now and then. There were a few people she could lean on to tip her off on anything she missed during those absent days, and the textbooks that were handed out to them were sufficient self-study material. Hey, nobody ever said she was a diligent student. Besides, one of the bookstores she frequents just had a large stock clearance sale. It's been a long while since anything lighted up her eyes as much as the advertising signs did that day. She must have blew through more than half of her monthly allowance, but her uncle was an understanding man. His company had been having a great year, so Angie was sure that she'll be able to mooch off a little more cash from him if she ever needs it. So, if asked for a reason, it'll probably just have to be the following: A good pile of books, boring classes, easy access to music and an awesome stash of alcohol. These coming few days were something to look forward to, and the weekend is just around the corner as well. Everything's just going really swell. Smiling with rose tinted cheeks, she gulped down a shot and got up to the fridge for another round. ⇒ My writing felt really clunky this time around. Hopefully it doesn't read as bad as it felt to write.

I WILL GRAB MY FREEDOM WITH MY OWN HANDS. What a pain in the ass... Classes were finally over, but it seemed like Aniki still had things to take care of and people to pick up after. He wasn't really sure how that happened, and it was still a little... weird to be thinking about other people since he'd spent so long fending for himself and only himself. But here he was, living the high school life, with people he could trust and who trusted him too. To be truthful, there were still some days when he'd wake up and think everything was a dream or an illusion that had been created to torment him. Happiness was the last thing Aniki had expected himself to be in possession of, and it scared him so much to think that he was allowed to be this happy. On some level, he was already preparing for the worst. Because they only let you be this happy if they were going to take something away from you, and goddamn, waiting for the end while knowing that everything would turn into something he would inevitably lose was pure agony. Oh, found the right room. Shunting his thoughts to the back of his head and instead dragging his simple high school persona to the front, Aniki flapped the papers in his hand and knocked with his free hand. "Oi Ang, you in?" Not waiting for an answer, the reject let himself in. He and Angie were practically siblings, so it wasn't too big of a d–... deal. Pajamas, right, he could deal with pajamas. Had it been someone he didn't know as well, Aniki might've raked an appreciative eye over the attire and fooled around, but it was just Angie. Somehow the fact that this was his kid sister in all but blood took anything weird out of the whole situation. "Skipping school already? I see I've taught you well," he smirked instead, wholly nonchalant despite the setting. The reading chair was free as Angie was at the fridge, so Aniki left the papers on her desk and dropped into it. The atmosphere was pretty cozy; the music soothing and... Wait, was that the scent of alcohol? Zeroing in on that one clue, Aniki turned to get a better look at the younger girl, and low and behold, that was a shot glass in her hand. "What the fuck, you drink?" Yeah he was surprised. First the hooky, and now underage drinking? Seemed like Ang had a lot going for her. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

| Before tonight, she hadn't messed up even once. Nobody other than she and her uncle knew about this little habit of hers. On the days when she held a bottle in her hand, the windows would be left open to air out the room. Her calender marked by scribbles and circles were glossed over more than once to ensure that there weren't any plans for the day, and a convenient lie of being asleep was used when facing unexpected intruders who knocked on her door. But all of that were useless if somebody just barges into her unlocked room. She was at the fridge, grabbing some bars of chocolate when she heard her name being called out. The voice was somewhat muffled, though it did fell awfully familiar. It didn't matter though, for she thought that the door to her room was locked. After all, why wouldn't it be? She wasn't someone who was careless enough to mess up something as simple as that. Angie returned to her hunt for chocolate, pushing some bars of ice-cream to the side and reaching in for one strawberry flavored. And then the door opened, and a voice called out from behind her. Angie let out a small yelp as she turned around and took a step back, only to clumsily bump her head against the corner of a kitchen shelf. The impact made her wince, and she kept her eyes shut till the pain had subsided. For a second during all that commotion, she caught a glimpse of Aniki, and to think that he saw all that just happened.. She wanted to keep her eyes closed forever, to become the ostrich she never was, but a rising bubble of emotions was too much for her to bear. Hesitant, flustered, embarrassed and childishly upset, she opened her eyes and begun to shout at her intruder. “W-what's wrong with you! Haven't you heard of knocking?” stuttered Angie, her hair sprawled messily down over her shoulders. Waving her arms up in the air for emphasis, two distinct sounds echoed in her room - the choco bar's crinkling plastic, and the ice cubes in her glass clinking with one another. The ice cubes. The shot glass. There as a visible 'Ah!' moment when she realized what he just found out. Standing there idly like a deer in headlight, Angie turned around with a huff. Biting her lips, her shoulders trembled slightly with embarrassment. “At least knock before you barge in..” she murmured, turning around now with a much calmer set of emotions. Avoiding his questioning gaze, she decided to throw the choco bar at him just for the hell of it. “I'm only about three years below the legal drinking age. Don't give me that look.” ⇒ lol

I WILL GRAB MY FREEDOM WITH MY OWN HANDS. With puppy-like innocence, Aniki canted his head to one side and calmly watched his friend freaking out. He'd recovered from his earlier dumbfoundedness fast, though his eyes still narrowed a near discernible fraction whenever they met the shot glass still in the girl's hand. Drinking wasn't a good habit, especially in someone so young. It was a medium through which people could be taken advantage of, and the reject himself had been in unpleasant situations involving varying states of inebriation. It was also a way to forget. No.Suddenly, some part of Aniki wanted so badly to scoop this girl into his arms and simply cry, mourning an innocence that had no doubt already been lost. I'm sorry, he wanted to say, don't become what we did. Don't fall like we did when you deserve so much better. Perhaps it was a different seventeen-year old he was seeing in his mind's eye, but he ached with the longing to keep this innocence ablaze no matter who it was. Blink. And then he was back in the present, the second of darkness receding from his eyes so quickly that it was as if it had never been there. Get it together bro. In an atmosphere like this, forgetting was probably the last thing Angie was doing. She wasn't like him yet. "I did knock," he defended, a sliver of amusement threading his voice as he raised his hands to block any incoming projectiles. As expected, something came flying his way, and he batted it out of the air before it reached him. Then he pounced, jumping off the reading chair to land on silent cat feet, and in one quick swipe, the chocolate was in his grasp. He didn't even like chocolate that much, but the candy bar was his now, and he curled back into the chair with his new host- ahem, treasure. "As a fellow drinking minor, I feel I should warn ya about the consequences of underage drinking but..." But Aniki wasn't going to mother the girl. If she wanted to drink, then let her drink; she probably knew what was coming for her if she wasn't careful. As long as she was responsible about it and didn't get completely wasted and died from something ridiculous like alcohol poisoning or something ( or worse, his mind interrupted maliciously), then it was all okay. "But..." he grinned, mischievous down to the last fiber in his body, "Perhaps I could be persuaded ta keep my mouth shut."TAGGED | NOTES derp what was that about aniki being a good big brother again-- |
