Trial Instructions
So, how will the trial go. Like the Investigations, it'll be an experiment the first time around, but we'll see how things go. 1.) Easily, we go in the posting order, discussing the case. Just go around in the order. For the trial, we will have a 12 hour wait (unless there is a timezone reason, then the rule can be waived).
2.) You want to interrupt someone or address them directly? Tag them instead of the next poster, and if you're breaking the order, make sure an admin knows you are posting a response, and its fairly easy. These are the non-stop debates, and you can attack or simply add in your own statements, which someone might go back to and attack your statement. If they make a compelling first argument, and no back and forth is needed, then the posting order continues from there. Otherwise, move onto number 3 below.
3.) If you want a back and forth, you can do it once a trial if you get beaten in a back and forth. Otherwise, if you keep winning them, you can just keep going back and forth. If you would like a back and forth, which we'll call Cross Swords, post that at the bottom somewhere. After which, you and your opponent will have a set number of posts (determined by the staff which will post after the Cross Swords request) to get their point across. Then there will be a poll to see how the cast votes who is right.
Example:
Character 1 (C1): Statement
Character 2 (C2): You're wrong.
C1: Why? Cross Swords.
Staff: 2 posts
C2: Explanation
C1: Rebuttal
C2: Closing Statement
C1: Closing Statement
The Cast: Votes; C1 Wins
C1 can challenge and be challenged in Cross Swords again.
C2 cannot challenge or be challenged in Cross Swords (if challenged, they automatically lose because of lost credibility).
4.) Accusing. Anyone can only do it once in a trial. When accusing someone, put Accusation at the bottom of the post, and present your points. When one is accused, they can post a response after the accusation. However, the accuser can post one more response to rebuttal their point. Then, the cast can choose to either vote on the murderer, or the accuser can lose credibility, and thus cannot be challenged in Cross Swords either.
The second post of the accuser should be like the closing statements in the game, detailing how they believe the murder was carried out.
If you have any questions or suggestions, contact a staff. If this is updated, you will be notified via skype and the chat at the bottom of the page.
