Monokuma's announcement rung throughout the entire ship. "Investigations are now over. Please report to the deck so we may begin the class trial." No more investigating. All the evidence the students had collected, that would be all they could. The body would be gone when they returned.
As soon as everyone gathered on the deck, the deck began moving down, walls all around, a roof closing over them as they moved down, temporarily in darkness before a light flickered on lighting the area. And they moved down, farther and farther, getting prepared for the deadly class trial that awaited them.

The inside of the pitch black elevator was quickly brightened up as Elizabeth's eyes scanned the people inside. One of the thirteen other students were responsible for Penelope's death. A mixture of seriousness and doubt was painted across her face, she was determined to find who was behind this. What could she do though? As much as Elizabeth hated it, she had to rely on her classmates. Any of them could be planning to deceive everybody and get away with their crime. The metallic sound of the elevator descending was all she could hear, she was completely deaf to anything the others might say. How does this elevator even work though? It didn't make sense, though nothing did at this point. Arare made her way to the elevator. Investigation was done. She could only Hope that her Luck was strong enough that they would find the killer. The answer might have seemed obvious from what they found, but the future still seemed so uncertain. She believed in her luck, it hadn't failed her yet, but she didn't trust in it, not fully, and she knew that there were others who were even more skeptical. Putting her faith in it to try and guess who did it would only lead to more confusion from the others. Evidence was all they had and her luck had done what it could to get them this far. Someone else might not have found those syringes. The elevator was silent as it took them to where the Trial would take place. There it was a matter of life and death. They had to find the killer or they would all die in their stead... The curtain was opening... On a courtroom of life and death... Mutual deception of life and death... Betrayals of life and death...
Puzzle solving of life and death... Vindications of life and death... Trust of life and death...
A School Trial... of life and death.

[/i] Fuck, fuck it couldn't possibly be time already. Gathered here on the desk as he awaited the descent into madness that was sure to come the usually cheery and talkative Kenji had carved a little section of deck for his lonesome and stood eerily still, arms wrapped tightly around himself, and now more than ever before the only thing clear in the mind of the unfortunate skateboarder was God, He didn't want to do this; he didn't want to be here. God, if You were listening he promised to study harder, to take his shadow rounds more seriously, to give up skating and follow in the family business, he'd do everything else he never really wanted to do if this was all just revealed to be a nightmare and he was safe at home. But if his prayers were heard at all, it seemed the answer was too little too late for the skater head, as it wasn't long after this shameless pleading from the muscular young man that the metallic sounds of an elevator jerked to life and they started to descend. It was almost enough to make a grown man weep. ...But everything was gonna turn out fine, right? There was no way one of them was actually a murderer, right? This was all...a mistake. A misunderstanding. A nightmare, that's all. [/ul]

The students would end up stopping finally, one side opening, revealing the trial room, 16 areas to designate their position in the trial room, two pictures of the deceased, Teruru and Penelope, a hot pink 'X' crossing out their names.
Monokuma was sitting on his throne, wearing his eyepatch and pirate hat upon his furry fluffy head. Giggling he watched as the students made their way out of the elevator into this very... despair-tastic situation.
"Now," Monokuma began, "Let me go over a basic explanation of the Class Trial. So, your votes will determine the results. If you can figure out who dunnit, then only they will receive punishment. But if you pick the wrong one...then I'll punish everyone besides the blackened, and the one who deceived everyone else will graduate! Upupupupupupu."
The bear stood up on his thrown, throwing his arms into the air as for as his little arms could reach. "Let's begin, then, shall we?"

"I'm not ready. I can't do this at all."
That's all Lucca could think as he quietly stood in the elevator. He silently stood in the back, scanning everyone, in disbelief that anyone there could be a murderer. But seriously, how could any one of them be so heartless as to murder an innocent girl.
During the long, quiet elevator ride, Lucca's usual happy exterior had melted away, and he had become more serious, almost cold in a way. He was certainly afraid for what could happen, but there was no way he could show it to anyone there. If there was any way for him to survive, he would have to take this seriously...and hope everyone else found more evidence than he did, which honestly wouldn't be too hard to do.
As the elevator came to a slow halt, Lucca prepared for the worst, but hoped for the best. Heh, Hope...that was all he had now, wasn't it?

I WILL GRAB MY FREEDOM WITH MY OWN HANDS. Oh fuck. That was the last thought that crossed Aniki's mind before the elevator cage slammed shut and took them down to the depths of hell-on-a-ship. Seemed like the real game was about to begin. Shutting his eyes, the reject grit his teeth and tried to concentrate on simply breathing to keep the walls of the tiny compartment from closing in on him. Now was not the time to feel claustrophobic, but even he couldn't shake the tension that was creeping over him. Adrenaline. He needed adrenaline to kick in so that he could feel that usual devious courage that seemed to flee him now. This feeling of entrapment and cold prison bars was too familiar, and he hated it, hated the ghost of a hand creeping up his throat, hated his own traitorous fingers for reaching up to dig blunted nails into the back of his neck without his input. Hissing his displeasure at the whole situation in general, Aniki stalked out of the elevator and to his designated area, doing his utmost to keep from flat out hurtling himself out into the wider, gaudily decorated room. Breathing easier and thinking far clearer now that he was out, the nineteen-year old took another deep breath before honing his narrowed gaze on the stuffed toy lounging on the throne. Let the game begin indeed. TAGGED @next | NOTES show me your moves /salute |

Elevator Shaft Theme: Fun Times 1 & 2Angie's Attire: Formal ClothingShe crossed her arms, leaning her back against the walls of their cage. The mechanical beast whirled on, the air inside as thick as could be. This was a grotesque experience, so much so that it rivaled even that one chapter in her past. A small tingle shivered down her spine, bony fingers clutched at her heart. Angie closed her eyes to calm herself down, but the elevator incessantly droned on. The memories came running back, and she relived that night once more. The pelting rain, the scent of gunpowder. A trail of blood. Her shaky fingers, messy hair, dirt crusted fingernails. The clutched handgun that failed to kill when she yearned for it most. The one bullet that didn't lodged itself into flesh and bone. How she looked today couldn't be anymore different than her disheveled look back then, but she felt the accursed familiarity all the same. Lowering her gaze to the floor, she regretted the decision to leave her hat back in her dorm. She would have pulled it down and hid behind its cover. These formal clothes were worn out of respect for the dead, an arguably meaningless gesture, but one that she felt was right. Sadly, there was nothing just about where they stood. It was an orchestra of madness, and its conductor was the devil himself. By the time the elevator came to a stop, her knuckles were pale, raw and hurting. The pain was the only thing that made her realize she was clenching her fists, though she was somewhat grateful for the distraction it provided. And when the doors opened, her eyes flickered up to the court so graciously laid out. She wanted desperately to run and hide, to hide and bury herself anywhere but here, but she forced herself to take a step forward. If running away wasn't an option, all that's left to do is to fight with everything she has.

Shortly after the announcement Jun made his way to the deck, and almost instantly after all students arrived the deck started moving downward. Large metallic sounds were audible and the tension in the elevator was testable. The remaining students all had stern looks on their faces. Theme of preperation"So one of us did it huh? Question remains, who? The evidence I have collected seems to point to our medical practitioner. The syringes would back that up... furthermore she'd have an understanding of poison. Still, I have no motive, so it's best not to jump quickly. Best save that special poison as a trump card for now, it might be what I need to tip someone over the edge. What else is there? Well the crime scene was certainly peculiar, the apple and scalpel especially. Though I should wait on the report from the team that stayed in the room before drawing conclusions."
Just as Jun had summarized everything his investigation had brought the elevator drew to a stop. Remaining quiet he walked out the elevator into what could best be described as a rather eccentric courtroom. "I had a feeling he was a bit over the top..." The Detective smirked as he took his designated spot, and he looked around as the rest took their place. The two images of his deceased classmates catching his eye. "This some sort of joke to you? Tch."Then the bear spoke: "Now," Monokuma began, "Let me go over a basic explanation of the Class Trial. So, your votes will determine the results. If you can figure out who dunnit, then only they will receive punishment. But if you pick the wrong one...then I'll punish everyone besides the blackened, and the one who deceived everyone else will graduate! Upupupupupupu." The bear stood up on his thrown, throwing his arms into the air as for as his little arms could reach. "Let's begin, then, shall we?" "So this is all a big game to you? Hmph! Well no worry, this is all very serious to us!" Jun frowned , one of the other students really did kill. "With the evidence we collected, we'll root out who murdered Penelope." The detective ruffled his hair and straightened his tie. This was it, the trail that would decided they'r fates. And he was more than ready for it!

News of the end of the investigation reached Luigi's ears as well and he made his way towards the deck as was instructed. Once there, metallic sounds revealed that the fourteen remaining Ultimates were in an elevator. Despite all that, Luigi was in a relaxed pose. ( Theme of Preparation/Elevator) The Butcher never said anything for the duration of the elevator ride. When it stopped, Luigi walked towards the space designated for him, merely shrugging at the sight of the pictures with the deceased Ultimates on them. Death was a constant thing in Luigi's life, so he was desensitized to it, already. He felt it sucked that the two girls were dead already, but they had to die at some point anyway. Luigi nodded to the bear's explanation of the trial rules. "Yeah.", he merely stated. He then looked at everyone else. "Here we go.", he said without worry in his voice.

Tamashi wasn't worried. He was about as calm as he was the first day. Sure, some anxiety WAS there, but he's not a wreck. We can do this. We can find the culprit.....but then what? What was the point of all this nonsense? That damn bear was right there, someone could end this.....No, he probably has a trap or weapon on hand. Either way, he looks at his evidence again and starts organizing. The evidence seems rather....one sided. But he can't run into conclusion. He did the same with FT-7. And...no he can't. He can't start thinking about THAT again. He shakes his head, too many irrelevant thought. He looks around. Someone here murdered Penelope. And we WILL find the bastard that did this.
"So, I hope everyone is ready. This is...gonna be rough"

The elevator seemed all too much like a prison cell for Alito's comfort, but he tried to fight back the rising urge to frantically attempt an escape. He knew it would be pointless, and would probably end in his death. Many others were distancing themselves, giving themselves plenty of space between the others, and Alito followed suit. A jail-like elevator descending to a courtroom. The familiarity hurt. It felt like he was alone against all of them. Anyone could be the killer, he knew, and the tiny scrap of paper he had wasn't much to go off of. He'd tried to clean it off earlier, before the announcement to gather had rang out, but he hadn't had time to see if words could be made out. Eh, well. He'd bring it up in the trial. He let out an involuntary shudder as the elevator jolted to a stop, and yet another when he heard the bear's words. This was do-or-die for everyone here, with every single life on the line. He looked around at their faces. They had some clever people here, sure, but in the end, they were just teenagers. Could they really solve a murder? It would seem that the answer to that would become clear very, very soon. He took his place in the circle that would serve jury for this trial, and waited.

fear is not an option luck is not a factor,
A trial. That’s where they were. Over the death of the non-expendable who had been killed by someone. Someone around them was a murderer. Some… thing killed a person who he had planned on getting out. It was his fault. He wasn’t good enough. And he wasn’t able to protect her. Now he had to find out who did it. The ride down was curious. Ryuu had mapped out the ship and while there was room in the middle of the ship, he wasn’t sure exactly how far down they had gone. Were they at the bottom of the ship? Or were they somewhere else in the ship?
It didn’t matter right now. Right now his mind had to focus on the trial. He hadn’t found too much evidence, but he had a few questions for a specific person in this trial. However, at the same time, Ryuu doubted that it was actually Angie. Someone may have been able to sneak into her room. But that pointed to only a couple of other people. However, Ryuu was not discounting other ways that the murder had gone down. Through this trial, Ryuu was sure he would come up with the way everything happened. While he tended to distance himself, his talent depended on other people. His talent depended on knowing how people work, and therefore what they would do with proper incentive. While he might not know what happened yet, he knew that they would uncover the truth.
“Alright then. We better begin, shall we?” Someone was going to be discovered to be a murderer or they would all be punished. Even if that person was a non-expendable, he couldn’t risk the lives of all the others for the stupid mistake of a single non-expendable. However, Ryuu couldn’t help but hope it was an expendable. His eyes went to N10, the one with no talent. While he had talked with her with the intent to convince her to murder, the conversation did not head the way he had intended. However, that didn’t mean that what he had said didn’t motivate her. Then again, Ryuu doubted it. After all, the murder wasn’t based around any sort of probability. “The cause of death. What killed Penelope Baron?” He used her name. But that was because she was now dead. Now he could think of her as a dead person, and he would honor her death, especially since it brought them food. “The cause of death was her heart stopped. That’s not very helpful, now is it?”
hope is not a strategy Ryuu Sasaki

As the elevator doors clicked shut, like the cock of a gun, Paris Eins shook furiously. Adrenaline had been building as they and Lucca explored the Dining Hall, and now, they were ready to burst. Fluorescent lights flowed up as the elevator flowed down, parallel lines. These fourteen had once been parallel lines, until this twist of fate gave them all a common intercept. From here, they could only move further apart. And if they did not find the killer...they would find their lines weren't very infinite after all.
After moments of horrid silence the doors opened once again, revealing the...court room. With shaking legs, the Librarian took their spot in the socratic circle of secrets. Soon, all would be revealed. Paris was sure of it. Their eyes flitted from student to student. Lucca, a face of tentative hopefulness with underlying anxiety. Angie, not so well-hidden anxiety sprinkled with subzero anger. Ryuu, determination. What did Paris' face hold? Well, the courtroom didn't really have any mirrors. So Eins mustered all their strength into a determined, focused stare.
"I s-suggest...you just reveal yourself, fiend. We know your t-treachery...perhaps...we can take mercy if you confess..."
Penelope Baron was an unnecessary casualty. All sixteen students would be as well, in her place. But her heart beat no more, and Paris would have to be the Prince Charming that brought them back to life. Or...at least brought them justice.

Asher didn't want to leave Penelope's side, but he had been forced to come anyways. They were really getting into this murder mystery game. Maybe he could help a little, though Asher doubted it. People tended to get angry with him if he ever spoke up and they were speaking, even if they were wrong. He didn't want anyone to be angry at him after all, because that meant they weren't happy. And it was hard enough trying to keep everyone on this ship from not being sad... angry would just make things so much more difficult.
He waited on the really cool moving floor with a dopey sort of smile on his face, even if everyone else looked sad or focused. Wow, they really didn't know how to just play a game and have fun. Asher's thoughts drifted to Penelope in the kitchen, and wondered if she had gotten up when they were all gone. He'd left some food next to her, some fresh bacon, a glass of juice and a couple other things so when she got up finally she could eat some nice hot breakfast. He chuckled to himself picturing Penelope sitting up and wolfing down the stuff he left for her.
Oh right, he should probably focus. People would be angry if he didn't take this game seriously. He was still going to have fun with it though, because what game was fun if they were always serious about it.
Asher looked around at the people. The girl from the first day that disappeared and Penelope's face were both crossed out. Wow. They really pulled out all the stops for this. He continued to smile, looking around, unsure of how they were going to play this game, though the captain had said that if they got it wrong, they would be punished. Asher didn't like punishment even if it were for a game...
