Izumi wandered the streets of a large city she'd never see, seeking a place that she may or may not find. She drifted, roamed, and silently felt generally pleased about her decision to arrive so early. Hope's Peak was within arm's reach, and within it, a new life. She'd been deemed Lucky, and if she really was, she'd end up at the famed school sooner or later. Not long after that thought crossed her mind, she picked up excited, fairly young-sounding voices not far off. That was it, probably. She'd finally maybe arrived at Hope's Peak.
The closer she got to the voices, the more distant they became in her mind, everything blurring and spinning together into a confusing, indecipherable mess. Everything went quiet, then cold. The world stood still...
-=-=-=-=-
... and then began moving again. Moving far too fast, head spinning, unfamiliar and loud voices shouting obscenities at unknown targets of anger, confusion, and fear. It was warm, but the ground was cold and hard. And the smell, gods, the smell. Ominous and empty, though until this point, not much living had gone on in... well, wherever the hell she was. Facing the problem lying down, however, was hardly better than facing it sitting up. With an almost inaudible groan, SHSL Luck sat up, feeling the ground around her lightly as if to get some bearing as to where she was. Most was grass, but her fingers brushed against what felt like pavement not far from where she was presently seated. She thought about that. By the side of a road, it seemed. But no noise of cars, just other voices. Confused and scared. Maybe another crash? No, she would remember it. She wouldn't have gotten hurt badly enough to induce amnesia.
Still, thinking about that was better than trying to process the multitude of outcries that seemed to surround her. She could pick out several distinct voices so far, so it seemed to be a decent-sized group. They all sounded young as well. It felt so familiar, but it was just out of reach. She slid down onto her side. Her head hurt with trying to think, trying to remember. Nothing made sense and everything was still a blur and she felt lost and helpless. In her gut she felt form the sickening feeling that maybe her luck had finally run out.

Monokuma was watching as everyone awoken from their slumber, laughing to himself thinking of the joy he was going to have watching them in this town. It was so open, so many options for them. There was a pool, and the roof even opened on it. Each had their own house which meant there was privacy. He was sure that the town would prove very nice for his plans for these students. He waited until the last one had awoken before he decided to make his appearance. He stood up on top of a nearby building and looked down at them. “Upupupupupu, you’re all awake!” He jumped down from the building onto the ground in front of the crowd mostly. “I’m the mayor, Mayor Monokuma. I lay the laws down in this town, and you all will follow them.” They were probably worried, and for good reason. Who wouldn’t be worried in this situation… Poor students. “Don’t worry. Your memories will return eventually. But in the meantime, we’ll all get to know each other and have a lot of fun, won’t we?” Well, that was probably not what anyone expected to hear from a black and white bear with a red eye that probably looked fairly evil in most ways. But that was how things were, at least. Posting Order is Broken for this round, but then after initial reactions it will be reinstated. Monokuma will have posts speckled in to answer questions and such.

THIS IS HOW IT ALL GOES DOWN TONIGHT THIS IS HOW YOU BRING ME BACK TO LIFE | |
What is this? A talking bear!? Mayor!? It really was some sort of fairy tail, look how cute the Mayor is! Memories.. what about their memories though? Were they forgetting something? It was like some sort of game inside a dream how cool! Someone pinch all of us this is too much! Don't actually pinch everybody though many probably wouldn't like it. "Heyhey! So you're the Mayor" Sayuri's back straightened up as she saluted Mayor Monokuma. Respect had to be shown to the Mayor! He was a very important man and deserved all of the respect in one's body. "What are the town's laws dear Mayor?" Part of her was secretly scared. Waking up in the middle of the street definitely wasn't normal. This was just a dream right? If this really was a dream she would wake up before anything bad happens anyway. Just in case it would probably be best to be herself. It was like she was covering up her negative emotions with pure joy and curiosity, even though that mask was in the shape of her normal face. Weird isn't it? @tagged

Rin looked around as all of the others had woken up one by one. Seeing some of them as wary as he was, and other acting like this was no big deal. He failed to see how some of them could be so nonchalant about this whole thing, but then again, Rin was nervous about pretty much everything. He was just hoping that they could all work together to get out of...wherever the heck they were. It wasn't until the final person woke up, that something truly unbelievable happened.
From the top of a building, was a loud voice, yelling down at them. Rin looked up and he saw...a bear!? An honest-to-god bear was standing atop a building and was yelling down at them. Was this a dream? Yeah, this was probably all a dream. Rin probably just fell asleep in class or something. But as the bear continued the more real it became.
"The l-laws? W-what would those laws be...?" Well now there were laws. He was completely unaware that kidnap-pees had to live by the kidnapper's rules, though Rin had never been kidnapped before so that's probably why. But then the bear mentioned their memories.
"W-What!? O-Our memories? What do you mean?"
Did they all lose their memories? How was that even possible? Oh god so many questions, well, maybe that bear held some of the answers.

Erin jumped when the bear first made his appearance. This was not what she was expecting to happen. This whole situation was just bizarre.
Then a thought struck her. This must be planned by Hopes Peak! This entire thing was probably set up as some sort of initiation, or experiment at least. It must be something new they are trying, since her sister tells her everything. If Penelope didn't mention it, then it must be new.
She let out a sigh of relief. This means that there was no real danger. The academy would not let them get hurt on their watch. It would be bad publicity. Wait, could this possibly be being broadcasted right now? This would be a great set up for a reality tv show. Erin was not a fan of them, but it could be a great time to show off her abilities for potential scouts out there.
Her mind raced through so many possibilities. Never in her mind did she even consider that this could be a life or death situation. That could never happen to her. She was always safe and careful. Plus her family kept her on a tight leash, so to speak. It would take something major to happen to put her in danger.
She relaxed her stance. It seemed like the talking teddy bear was going to explain things to them. No need to overthink things. She walked over to the building where he had positioned himself.
"So, lets get things started. How about explaining to us exactly whats going on?"

A chill traveled down his spine as he looked at the mayor that had just appeared. It looked like some sort of sinister teddy bear, and its voice was absolutely grating. Shocked by the new arrival, Naoya took a step back, trying to keep his guard up. While he was normally good at masking his emotions, the situation before his eyes was simply too bizarre for him to not look surprised.
Finally remembering to breathe, he looked towards the cold ground below his feet, a million questions running through his mind. What was happening before him simply didn't seem possible. This walking, talking teddy bear was saying they had lost their memories and have to abide by this towns laws? After running through every possible thing he could do in his head, the painter simply crossed his arms, looking Monokuma dead in the eyes. He was going to get some answers out of this thing, one way or another.
"Mayor... Monokuma?" He straightened up, still keeping his distance. Even if that thing looked harmless, he wasn't going to take any chances in these circumstances. "Just answer me this.. Where are we? Did you bring us here? Why?" He clenched his fist a little, waiting for an answer from the bear. Could they really be in any danger? This place looked harmless enough. Still, considering they were kidnapped, and apparently they didn't remember everything, he couldn't take any chances. Even as he stood there, trying to remain completely calm, he could feel his palms get sweaty simply from nervousness.

Florence's face dropped as she gave the bear a blank glance.
“Are you one of those creepy fuckin' bodypillow things I always see? Ugh...glad to know our Headmaster is a pervert...er, well. Even this seems a bit...more unusual...” Stringing together sentences was getting harder as the liquid cement in the Cosplayer's brain began to harden. The reality of everything had started to sink in. And suddenly, white-hot anger. Or...as angry as the girl could get.
“Wait a fuckin' second, Glare Bear. First of all, the laws? Are you the popo? The politburo? The goddamn Survey Corps training mascot, or something? Whatever you are, you're gonna have a hard time keepin' super students under your non-existent thumb. How's it feel not having opposable thumbs, huh?! Er...anyway. I bet one of us is like, a Super Luchador or a Super Superman or something crazy. And what do you mean, our memories? As far as I remember you knocked us--...ohhhhhh.” She paused for a minute, pulling her fingers to her chin and gripping it.
“You're sayin' we're missing some days or something. We're...sick, or something?”
The idea sent rippling waves of anxiety down Florence's spine, her breath catching in her throat. What kind of fever, flu, stomach virus made someone forget hours at a time? Whatever was going on, it couldn't be something so innocent as the silver haired girl seemed to believe.

[attr="class","biggieno"] [attr="class","textieno"]Hearing the girl's response brought a smile out of her and an imaginative blush out of the doll. “Koharu really is adorable, isn't she?” responded Ai, the doll in question burying her head in her hands. Koharu peeked out, looked up to the girl and gingerly extended an arm. “She wants a handshake, I think. You can't see it, but she's blushing really hard right now!” exclaimed Ai, excited at how this friendship seemed to be blooming before her eyes. A passing thought entered her mind, a wispy little thing that made her realize she herself hadn't yet been introduced. Covering her mouth to hide a giggle, she decided to solve that little dilemma. “My name's Ai Kuwagachi, it's a pleasure to meet you!” [break]
The pleasantries were short lived, however great they were. A monochrome bear entered the scene, and Ai briefly wondered if it was a doll too. It certainly looked cute enough to be one, and she loved how the different black and white sides looked! Maybe she could use it as inspiration for a new line of dolls, a monochrome set that would surely bring hope to all the girls and boys of the world. It would be awfully adorable, and a few specific designs had already sprung to mind. [break]
A brief second of confusion seeped into her mind after hearing the part about their memories. She furrowed her brow while Koharu hid behind her leg, but Ai's perplexation was short lived. Getting to know each other and having fun with one another was her plan all along, making the bear's suggestion all the more wonderful. Clasping her hands together, she beamed an earnest smile. "That sounds great!" [break]
Squatting down, she wrapped Koharu up in a gentle embrace. Her fingers stroked the doll's blonde hair softly, gently and affectionately. "Did you hear that?" whispered Ai, looking at the doll with a soft, teary smile. "We're going to make lots of friends here, friends that will stay with us forever!" [break]

[attr="class","stotal"] [attr="class","shover"] [attr="class","stagged"]@tagged [attr="class","sbox"] What in the world..? A bear? Not just any bear, but a strange cartoon bear, bisected down the middle with a scar... This was a joke. A fantastic, wonderfully orchestrated and performed joke, but a joke nonetheless. Maybe it was an animatronic bear, and her and the students surrounding her were in a sectioned-off district of the city, built in a more European style to accommodate tourists or whatever the board in charge of the town would do to make the Westerners feel welcome. It would explain the utter lack of pedestrians and essentially any sign of life. Or, maybe the buildings were just sets, facades. Though, if that were the case, then this whole ordeal would probably cost more than whatever gratification whoever's behind it would get out of tormenting this collection of students. "Mayor MonoKuma"? Haruka sighed. This was going on for far too long. The people around her were losing their composure. Wouldn't they - whoever is behind this charade - just give it up before any of the foreign students or less sociable got violent, as they're wont to do? They might start breaking things. They might throw stones at the expensive animatronic. Either way, whoever was behind the bear was prodding these hormone-crazed and volatile personalities with a stick, and they would likely act surprised when one of them would explode. Don't pay any attention to it, she told herself as the bear continued it's speech. She didn't face the robot. She looked inside the opaque windows of the buildings on either side of the street, wondering about how old the construction was, or, if her hypothesis about the buildings being facades was correct, how detailed they were, if they had any interiors, if they just opened up in the back... Just ignore it, it'll go away soon.

Monokuma was ready for the uproar, but he didn’t realize that he had forgotten about the rules. Oh, bugger. That was his fault. “Oh right! The rules!” Maybe something was messing with his wiring. Something did seem… odd about everything right now. But it wasn’t like he could change it. It was like one of these people trying to change their brain. That was impossible, without the proper equipment at least. “If you’ll check, somewhere on you is a E-Handbook, there the rules are listed.” When they looked that rules, there were actually very few. Rule 1: No entering another’s house without permission. Rule 2: Nighttime happens from 10pm to 7 am, some areas will be restricted, please exercise caution. Rule 3: Sleeping anywhere other than the houses is not allowed and will warrant punishment. Rule 4: With minimal restrictions, you are free to explore the town. Rule 5: Violence against Mayor Monokuma is strictly prohibited, as is destruction of surveillance cameras. Rule 6: Additional town laws may be added if necessary “You sixteen were chosen for a protect by Hope’s Peak Academy, you see, to form a community of the best and the brightest. You’ll remember in time that you volunteered for this,” Monokuma explained. Oh, he hoped that this would help them calm down. “You’ve lost a bit of time, and that is a little disorienting, but it’ll all be alright.” Hold on, he only counted fifteen. Where was the sixteenth? He was told there were sixteen. Posting Order is Broken for this round, but then after initial reactions it will be reinstated. Monokuma will have posts speckled in to answer questions and such.

Something odd was going on, that much was certain. A new, previously-unheard voice had made its way onto the scene, and the others around Izumi seemed to not be taking it well at all. Something about whoever the voice belonged to was decidedly strange, and people kept mentioning a bear... But that couldn't be right, bears didn't speak, right? It mentioned a town, and laws. Memories being missing. Fishing around in her pocket for the handbook thingy he mentioned, Izumi found some sort of electronic thingy with headphones plugged in. Hastily she put them on, both blocking out the outside world and listening to the aforementioned laws. It all seemed fairly... normal, really. Only one thing lingered in her mind as she removed the headphones.
Deciding to finally speak up, she addressed the unfamiliar voice. "Excuse me, um, Mayor Monokuma? Why is it mentioned that violence against you is forbidden? Why would anyone here act violently?"

your worst nightmares are my greatest fantasies As Rie continued to roll around until she was satisfied, there was one word that immediately stood out from the boring conversation. "...rules?" She suddenly sat up, glaring at the black and white teddy bear. "What...the...FUCK! There's no fun in that at all!" Being fast enough to pick on the rules, the blue-haired girl was equally as quick on her toes, appearing beside the apparent mayor of the town. "T-The sleepovers! Late night movies! You can't bring me here and NOT expect me to STAY UP AT NIGHT!! PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS A FUCKING JOKE!!" No. Rie had endured the torture of rules all her life. This wasn't happening. If what the Mayor Bear said was true, then why on earth would she have partaken on this stupid idea? THIS WAS HER CHANCE TO ESCAPE. WHY WOULD SHE CHOOSE THIS? The more she thought of it, the more her head throbbed in pain. Rie couldn't face the fact she made this conscious decision herself. It didn't make sense. Maybe it was a prank? ... They wouldn't prank her... would they? ... They wouldn't... "AUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHH~" Rie cried out, stomping off towards one of the windows on a nearby building. She stopped for a moment, staring at the silhouette of her reflection, then proceeded to throw a fist straight into the pane. Shards of glass flew onto the ground with a few pink speckles of blood. "IS THIS ONE OF YOUR EXPERIMENTS, DOCTOR?! IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED TO SEE?! AM I CURED YET?!!" Rie shouted, grabbing a big shard of broken glass and tossing it into another window. Luckily to anyone's dismay, the shard clinked against the tall window, leaving only a unsightly crack. Sasuke was mentally absent for a while, he didn't even notice at first that a monochromatic bear appeared. He heard that it wanted to be called 'Mayor Monokuma', though. But then it apparently appeared again, and now it had Sasuke's full attention.
When he was prompted to, he took out his e-Handbook and read the rules. He then looked at the bear and said. "Very well. I shall abide by these laws, Mayor Monokuma."
The fact that some of his classmates still weren't calmed down, or even angry, caused Sasuke to speak up.
"Fellow students! Do not be afraid! We, the students of Hope's Peak Academy need to be the symbol of hope for humanity! We cannot despair just yet, it is far too early to do so!"
He then felt it was time to introduce himself. "My name is Sasuke Sukiyami and I hold the title of the Super High School Level Motivational Speaker. If you ever need my assistance, please do not hesitate to call me. I shall aid you whenever necessary!"
He then bowed deeply.

[/b] Someone besides himself, of course. That girl gave the big guy the creeps. Instead the big guy stretched out his whole six-seven frame, joints popping from the sudden movement, the teenager quietly studied the "laws" that were laid out in the little ebook they had on their person. Nothing really seemed out of the ordinary except for again: mayor Monokuma? Somebody liked to give themselves an air of importance. As Koji sucked on the inside of his cheek, a few of the students had begun to introduce themselves (as well as give a really cheesy speech about not despairing just yet, which seemed unnecessary. All they did was wake up, why would they despair if nothing has happened yet? The giant stifled a yawn and lazily folded his baseball like mitts behind his head and stared over at the chick who had punched a window, just in case she did something insane and interesting again. "...Koji Kawachi. I'm the Ultimate Gardener."Good intro Koji. There's a slight pause, as if there was something else the big guy wanted to add to the end of his thought, how it was nice to meet them, how he hoped they'd all get along here or something to that effect. Instead all there is an uneasy silence, finally followed by "...Yeah. That's all."[/ul]

One of Kumori's hands tensed for a moment prior to Monokuma landing in front of them. That was the second time someone had sneaked up on her in so short of time... or not? The bear said they were missing memories so it might have been a bit since she was knocked unconscious, but still, the fact that what landed was something that had to be Robotic in nature, she relaxed a bit for now. It just meant she would have to keep her senses out for more than just the signs of hidden humans.
The Bear then introduced himself as Mayor and laid down some rules. That made things a bit... more complex and simpler. Most of the direct interactions she had with Politicians were... brief and one-sided, but it seemed like this would be the case. Violence against him was forbidden and he was a robot. It was hard to assassinate a Robot Politician.
Kumori stood up and stretched a bit, which had the added effect of making her already rather noticeable bust a bit more pronounced for a short time. Sure, they were a bit of a hassle to deal with sometimes, but were a wonderful pair of distractions.
It seemed like the others were starting to introduce themselves. Kumori thought about it and decided to hold back, for now at least. Shinobi would seem a bit strange and probably bring her the wrong kind of attention after Motivational Speaker and Gardener, so she just continued to watch the events unfold in front of her.
