So for right now, I haven't planned everything out per se, but I have a few ideas. Each game will hopefully be different, but mostly it will be character driven. Such as, the murders will be RP'd through PM between the murderer and the victim, while the staff moderates what evidence might be found and things such as that.
As for traitors, I was thinking that in one of them, it could be someone who is trying to prevent the killing, sent by Naegi and friends, but their memory was erased, to later be returned. In another it could be someone completely opposite, someone who is trying to get the killing game to keep going, egging people on through manipulation, sent in by the Ultimate Despair, which has taken on several forms (like in Game 2 when the characters had all become Ultimate Despairs in real life), perhaps an Ultimate Despair themselves.
One of the games I would like to see end where canon characters from the game find them and free them. And perhaps in another, it ends with the perfect murder, basically the deaths of everyone but one person from it.
So, so far those are just a few of the ideas that I have had.

Like our small discussion on Skype, I think the traitor role is a unique idea for this site, if it functions the way we hope it would. However, since this character role has a slight advantage over other characters in terms of information, would that mean a few characters will be limited to such a role? I assume not everyone will be able to choose this position if the amount of "traitors" outweigh the actual student body in each game. It sounds like something we should carefully moderate in the future.
Also, this traitor role would fit perfectly with the Mastermind role for a game. For instance, this character would play a charade of being a normal SHSL student, yet ultimately forced the actions of murder and trial. It sounds good - although the Mastermind of said game doesn't necessarily have to be a canon character from the series. Perhaps a non-canonical member of Despair?

Yes, indeed! I was thinking mostly OC's and to limit the traitor to one or two per game, otherwise it sort of dilutes the role itself. It's actually a lot like the Mastermind, and I had planned the traitor to be there instead of the Mastermind itself, if that makes sense. D'you think I should have an announcement about the traitor role and what comes with it, the risk and the benefits.

Absolutely! Just like myself, I'm convinced that members will ask about the traitor role. An announcement of its usage, perks and faults will help clear any confusions on the subject. Personally, that would be a great help!
Also, do you have an inkling on how we use the Trials? Will there be an Investigation Phase prior to the Trials?

Okay, I've made the announcement, does it look good and clear to you?
As for the investigations and the trials... Basically I was going to have main storyline threads. Prologue to Chapter 1 would be to the first murder. Prologue would be getting to know everyone, and then we'd have free time threads. Then when the first murder happens, we RP through PM with staff modding it (the way to pick the murderer and the victim will be a random generator.
Then the victim would make their last post (which the rules would be instructed at the end of the PM) and anyone could come find them, and investigations would begin.
Characters would then begin investigating, and when they observed something, a staff member would do a short post on what they might find there.
Then on the trials, basically it would start out with a posting order, and if one has a reason to stop the order and interrupt in the middle of it (a question is asked, a back and forth occurs), then with staff approval they can do that (this way someone doesn't just get left behind).
Investigations and trials would be limited in real time. I was thinking like three days for investigation and three days for trials and adjust if more or less time is need for either in the future.
